The matter was on the agenda of the Clubs Committee last week

0Flamengo is considered one of the richest teams in Brazil. Not surprisingly, Marcelo Paz, CEO of Fortaleza, cited Rubro-Negro when talking about administrative responsibility and financial fair play in Brazilian football.
Marcelo gave an interview to Diário do Nordeste last Thursday (5 ) and spoke about the moment of Mais Querido. This is because Fortaleza's CEO made it clear that he is in favor of financial fair play. In the director's view, teams need to spend less than they earn to avoid debt and irresponsibility.
"I'm not in favor of limiting salaries, not even signings, as long as the club demonstrates the ability to make this with its revenues. For example, Flamengo is a good case for this. It is a club that achieves very high revenues through competence and is thus able to sign great players and pay their salaries, without violating any financial issue of sporting fair play" , said Paz.
Remembering that last week the Club Committee held the first meeting guided by implementation of financial fair play in Brazil. The meeting took place last Monday (2), at the CBF headquarters.
In addition to Marcelo Paz representing Fortaleza, Rodolfo Landim was also present. Other clubs from Series A such as: Fluminense, São Paulo, Palmeiras, Internacional and representatives from teams from Series B and Series C also attended. However, the idea of implementing financial fair play in Brazil is still in its initial phase, as those involved are still studying and analyzing models already in force in other countries.

0The Peñarol (URU) team was excited from the beginning of the trip to Rio de Janeiro, where they will face Flamengo, in the quarter-finals of the Libertadores. In addition to cheering the players on the flight towards the 'Marvelous City', the Uruguayans posted a montage of Christ the Redeemer with the club's flag.
As soon as they landed on Rio de Janeiro soil, the Uruguayan club published an image of a of the city's main tourist attractions. In addition to the photo, the team wrote the following message: “Peñarol em Rio”, alluding to Rock In Rio. Afterwards, a video showing the arrival of the athletes at Galeão Airport was also published.
Peñarol reached the quarterfinals of the Libertadores after beating The Strongest (BOL) in the round of 16. In the first game, the Uruguayan team defeated their opponent 4-0. On the way back, the Bolivian team even won by a score of 1-0, however, it was not enough to take away the classification of Diego Aguirre's men.
Before the game against Flamengo, Peñarol played in the Championship Uruguayan. On Saturday (14), Rubro-Negro's opponent beat Rampla (URU), by a score of 4 to 0. Given this situation, they remained undefeated in the national tournament.

Recovered from a thigh injury, De La Cruz is back in the team. Eduardo Paes uses his social network profile to deny the article

0Last Tuesday, the candidate for re-election for mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, denied the journalist Ancelmo Gois, from Globo. In a post on Instagram, the mayor informed that the city hall will be responsible for removing the megastructure on the gas meter site, different from what was reported. Furthermore, he guaranteed that Flamengo will have its new stadium, with the best conditions and security.
The news published by Ancelmo informs that Flamengo would have to pay R$100 million to remove a large gas structure present on land acquired by the club, which is owned by CEG and CEG-Rio, which are companies that are part of the gas concessionaire Naturgy.
According to the article, the companies were informed that Flamengo is the responsible for bearing the expenses, as provided for in one of the annexes to the land purchase and transfer contract. The clause, however, does not have a specified limit.
Paes stated that the values for the transfer of the structure are different from what was pointed out in the article by Ancelmo Gois. Furthermore, it exempted Flamengo from any responsibility, and that the city hall has been planning to remove it for years.
“They are making me defend @flamengo more than I would like: let it be clear that this is not the The cost of this transfer and when it happens will be the responsibility of the city of Rio, which knows that this structure cannot be in an area that is already receiving so many residential buildings. It's been in our plans for a long time! Flamengo will have its new stadium there in the gasometer with all the quality and safety that the region demands and deserves. Period!”, published the mayor.
Alvinegro director questions Mais Querido’s motives
|
0Durcésio Mello, president of Botafogo, mocked the recent demand by Flamengo and other Brazilian clubs for financial fair play regulation. According to the black and white president, Flamengo has no reason to complain, especially after the high-impact signings made in the last transfer window.
“That's from the guys from Gávea. They're joking... Are they going to talk about financial fair play? Ten years ago, 15 years ago, Flamengo earned R$100 million more per year than Botafogo, than Fluminense, Cruzeiro, Atlético-MG… If you put that in the timeline it comes to R$1.5 billion alone in broadcasting rights, and now they’re talking about financial fair play?”, said the director.
“The funniest thing is that they talk right after the 4-1 defeat. And even funnier, right after then they bring in Alex Sandro for R$1.8 million in salary, Michael earning R$2 million… What financial fair play?”, concluded Durcésio Mello in an interview with 'Panorama Glorioso'.
FLAMENGO WITH REVENUES OVER R$1 BILLION
It is worth remembering that Flamengo grossed more than R$1 billion in the last two seasons. This allows the club to make significant signings, given the high revenue it maintains. The expectation is that Rubro-Negro will once again surpass the R$ 1 billion mark by the end of 2024.
MEETING ON FINANCIAL FAIR PLAY
Last Monday (02) , a meeting organized by the National Club Commission took place, with the participation of Flamengo, Palmeiras, São Paulo, Vasco, Fluminense, Internacional, Fortaleza and Atlético-GO.
