The projects for the construction of Flamengo stadiumshould cost between R$75 million and R$100 million. It is the estimated number that works within the club. This cost should be more important in the 2026 season.
The total value for the construction of Flamengo's new arena is expected to be between R$1.5 billion and R$2 billion.
According to estimates, the basic and executive projects that would provide all the details of the stadium have a cost of around 5% of this total. This percentage is known within the current board, and also among opposition candidates.
The sale of the land Gasometer, made by the city of Rio de Janeiro to Flamengo, predicts that the project would have to be ready within 18 months from purchase. This would mean that it would have to be planned by the end of 2025.
But Rodolfo Landim's board understands that this project is the basic one, which has a lower cost within the amount. Therefore, there is an assessment that, next season, spending on stadiums will be less significant. Even so, work has already begun on the budget to include these.
After that, it will be the turn of the executive project - the definitive one - which will in fact be the most expensive part of the planning. This is when the cost of the work will actually start to weigh on the club.
Both the current board and opposition candidates are still drawing up plans on how to cover the costs of the entire stadium. There are ideas such as using naming rights, selling seats, CEPACs, possible partners, increasing revenue. Only the constitution of the SAF has been discarded by all currents so far.
