With the window closed, Flamengo can only replace Pedro's absence with players without a contract, but speculated names have worse numbers

0With the injury of Pedro, Flamengo should look for a free striker on the market to reinforce itself and fight for titles until the end of the season. The Flamengo player was injured in training with the Brazilian team, tearing the anterior ligament in his knee, and will only return in 2025. Without its top scorer and with the window closed, the club can only look for athletes without a contractual relationship.
Some names already appear linked to the club, such as Depay, who was offered to the club, and Martial, who was wanted by Flamengo. Choupo-Moting is another option. However, all the names that have emerged are behind Pedro in goal averages, whether in his career or in his best season.
With an average of 0.46 goals per game, Pedro sees Depay as the closest , with an average of 0.39. However, Choupo-Moting is the one who has the closest characteristics to Pedro, playing more centrally as a reference. But Choupo-Moting's average is not good, being last on the list, with 0.23 goals per game throughout his career.
It is also worth mentioning about Choupo-Moting that before his time at PSG , from 2018 to 2020, the striker was a main part of the attack of all the teams he played for: Hamburg, Nurembeg, Mainz, Schalke 04 and Stoke City. Even so, the goal average is low.
Pedro – 0.46
Depay – 0.39
Martial – 0.25
Choupo-Moting – 0.23
The best season of each of the namesComparing the best year of each one, Pedro also takes the best. With the injury, Pedro ended the season with an average of 0.70 goals per game, the best average of his career, although his desire to surpass 2023, his highest scoring year, fell by the wayside. The only one to achieve the same average was Depay. However, it happened in 2014/15, almost ten seasons ago. Depay's most recent best average was 0.55 in 2020/21. His difference, however, is his offensive contribution, also distributing a good number of assists.
Pedro – 0.70 (2024)
Depay – 0.70 (2014/15) and the most recent best was 0.55 in 2020/21
Martial – 0.48 (2019/20)
Choupa-Moting – 0.57 (2022/23)< /p>
Pedro was close to his top scoring season
Before being forced to end his year due to a knee injury, Pedro was five goals away from reaching at 35 this year, equaling the same number of goals as last year, his highest scoring season. Furthermore, there was only one goal left to reach 39 direct appearances, which would also equal last year's figure.
< p>Medal by medal, Brazil and Italy fought for the top 5 of achievements

0Brazil ended its participation in the Paris Paralympics this Sunday (8) with its best campaign in the history of the competition. According to the objective established by the Brazilian Paralympic Committee, the Brazilian delegation in Paris broke the record for medals in a single edition of the Games, with 89, achieved the highest number of golds, 25, and secured the unprecedented top 5 in the medals table. p>
It was not easy to secure fifth place. After spending the first few days among the five best countries at the Paralympics, Brazil came to occupy eighth place in the medals quarter at the end of Thursday (5), four days before the end of the Games. But from Friday (6) recovery came. With four gold medals won, Brazil reached seventh place and came up against France and Italy, which would become the great opponent for fifth place.
Medal after medal, Brazil and Italy fought for the top 5 in the table of medals. On Saturday (7), Brazilian athletes secured the country's best day in the history of the Paralympics with six golds, three silvers and seven bronzes, and sixth place in the classification. With such a performance, Brazil surpassed the 72 podiums and 22 gold medals from Tokyo 2022, achieving its best campaign in both categories.
However, it still lacked a position in the top five. The Italians had 24 gold medals, one more gold medal than Brazil, and slept in fifth place. That would change this Sunday morning (8).
In the first events of the last day of the race, Brazil won two more gold medals and overtook Italy. First, Fernando Rufino was champion in canoeing, winning gold in the 200m VL2 and leaving the countries tied. The race also had another Brazilian on the podium. Igor Tofalini finished in second place and took silver. Then, in the event that would bring the top 5 to Brazil, Tayana Medeiros broke the Paralympic record by lifting 156kg in the 86kg category and took gold.
Italy did not win any competition and no longer competes in competitions. Thus, Brazil guaranteed its best campaign in the history of the Paralympics. The great Brazilian highlights, as usual, were athletics, which reached its 200th medals won, and swimming, with 36 for the first and 26 for the second discipline.
