WHO WOULD SAY! FLAMENGO HAS THE BEST START IN BRASILEIRÃO AFTER 2 YEARS

Last Saturday (04), Flamengo faced Red Bull Bragantino at the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium, in Bragança Paulista, and tied 1-1. With this result, the team led by coach Tite reached eight points in the Brazilian Championship, surpassing the beginning of the Jorge Jesus era after five matches.

Comparing Flamengo's campaigns in recent seasons, in 2024 the red-black team achieved its best performance after five games, accumulating eight points. In previous seasons, the points won by Flamengo were: 2023 - 6 points, 2022 - 5 points, 2021 - 8 points, 2020 - 5 points and 2019 - 7 points.

Flamengo's worst campaigns after five games since 2019 were in 2020 and 2022, when the team won just five points. However, in 2020, despite the poor start under the management of Rogério Ceni, the team became champions of the Brasileirão. In 2023, with Jorge Sampaoli, Flamengo finished in fourth place, with six points.

With the draw against Red Bull Bragantino, Flamengo reached fifth place in the Brasileirão table, entering the G- 6 of the competition. This represents a breather for the team, removing the possibility of a new crisis.

Flamengo has now accumulated two games without defeat. After the victory over Amazonas in the Copa do Brasil, the team managed to draw against Red Bull Bragantino, showing a recovery after a period of adverse results.
