The three contracts signed between Flamengo and BRB, which require approval from the Deliberative Council next Monday (1/4) to come into effect, will guarantee the club a minimum of R$ 155 million over the next 5 years, but have the potential to yield much more over the next two decades.

According to the MRN website, access to contracts that solidify the partnership started in 2020. The first and simplest deals only with BRB's sponsorship of the club. To display its brand on the shoulder blades of men's and women's football shirts, both professional and base, the bank will pay R$25 million annually. The contract is valid for two years and runs until March 2026.

The agreement does not provide for automatic renewal, but establishes that BRB must be notified by March 1, 2026 of any offer to take on the shoulders of starting the following month and you have the opportunity to match this proposal if you wish.

CONTRACT CAN GUARANTEE LARGE PROFIT FOR FLAMENGO

A second contract regulates the use of the brand of < a href="https://gazetadourubu.com/noticia/apos-periodo-sem-jogos-flamengo-encara-maratona-de-jogos-importantes-confira" target="_blank">Flamengo by BRB for the sale of banking products for the next five years. The contract establishes a minimum payment of R$15 million annually, but this could be higher if the customer base increases. Furthermore, the contract provides that, if the sponsorship agreement between Flamengo and BRB is not renewed, the minimum annual value increases to R$25 million.

In other words, Flamengo already has guaranteed at least R$25 million in next five years, and an extra R$30 million in the next two seasons, for a total of R$155 million.

Several Uruguayan newspapers covered the tie between Flamengo and Vasco this Sunday (15). Among the main vehicles, “El País” and “Montevidéu Portal” highlighted that Luiz Araújo left the classic with a possible knee injury and could be absent for Rubro-Negro in the first game of the Libertadores quarter-finals against Peñarol, next Thursday (19).

Luiz Araújo played just 18 minutes in the classic. The attacker felt his knee after a challenge with a Vasco defender and even tried to continue on the field, but ended up being replaced by Arrascaeta. At half-time, Flamengo issued a statement informing that the player will be re-evaluated by the medical department at Ninho do Urubu. The squad will be presented again this Monday afternoon (16).

Uruguayan newspapers consider the possible absence of Luiz Araújo a big problem for Mengão. The athlete is a starter in Tite's team, with the most matches for Flamengo this season (50) and leader in assists (10).

The newspaper 'El País' classified the player as a key player for the team: “The injury to Luiz Araújo, one of the most important players in Mengão's squad, expands the list of injured players just a few days before the clash against Peñarol in the Copa Libertadores.”

The 'Montevideo Portal' followed the same line, highlighting the importance of the striker: “In addition to the result, another bad news for Peñarol's next rival in the Copa Libertadores it was the departure of Luiz Araújo. The fast right-winger, starter for Flamengo, felt pain in his right knee after a blow.”

Currently, Flamengo's medical department has five injured players: De La Cruz, Michael, Cebolinha, Viña and Pedro, with the trio formed by Cebolinha, Viña and Pedro only expected to return in 2025.

Expectations for De La Cruz in the game against Peñarol

While awaiting Luiz Araújo's diagnosis, coach Tite revealed, after the draw against Vasco, that he hopes to count on De La Cruz for the duel against Peñarol . According to the coach, the Uruguayan's presence could improve the effectiveness of the team, which has shown good performance in recent matches.

“In training, when he (De la Cruz) was leaving, I asked 'is there enough for 20? minutes?'. He smiled, because he couldn't. The physical department definitely said they were not in a position to do so. Not even him feeling well. Especially because you have to talk to the athlete, because then there is the charge. Hopefully, and I hope that he can be there on Thursday to reproduce today's performance, with greater effectiveness”, said Tite in the post-game press conference between Flamengo x Vasco.

The Bank of Brasília (BRB) recorded recurring profits of R$200 million in 2023, an increase of 24.4% compared to the previous year. The customer base grew 13.3%, to 7.6 million. Now, the bank is entering a new phase of consolidation, after very strong expansion in recent years. The credit portfolio increased by 17.7%, to R$35.8 billion. In individuals, the increase was much smaller, 1.6%, to R$18.0 billion. The expansion was driven by personal credit, while payroll loans, which account for R$13.7 billion, fell 4.2%. In legal entities, the expansion was 36.5%, to R$4.9 billion. Default ended December at 2.25%, up from 2.12% in the previous year.

“This performance was achieved in the midst of a challenging year, with domestic and international instability. The decisive investments in technology, innovation and expansion made by the bank over the last five years have shown excellent results, but now we are entering a new moment, a phase of consolidation”, says the president of BRB, Paulo Henrique Costa.

He points out that in five years the bank went from 650 thousand to 7.6 million customers; from R$15.2 billion to R$49.3 billion in total assets; from R$9.1 billion to R$35.8 billion in credit portfolio. “We stopped being a regional bank and became national, we changed scale and now it is time to consolidate this position, invest in technology, improve processes, gain operational efficiency, slow down the expansion of expenses.”

Regarding the 2023 result, Costa highlights the 28.8% increase in financial margin, helped by the change in portfolio mix; the results of subsidiaries, such as finance, the security area, which reached R$1 billion in premiums, and the payments segment; and revenue from services, which jumped 18.9% in the year, also reflecting diversification efforts.

Nação BRB Fla, a digital bank in partnership with Flamengo, reached 3.5 million open accounts and 1 million activated cards. Last week, the bank announced that it is reformulating the partnership, with the creation of a new company, in which Flamengo will have a purchase option of up to 45%. The parties will have three contracts. The first two, with duration
