The frustration of Flamengohas reached a new level in recent days, especially after the news that right-back Wesley suffered an injury that will prevent him from participating in the next games. The episode occurs at a time of great dissatisfaction with the club's management, mainly due to the recent failed negotiation that could have yielded 20 million euros to the red and black coffers.

The situation began to emerge when the Flamengo entered into advanced negotiations with Atalanta, from Italy, for the sale of Wesley. The deal was practically sealed, and the Italian club was willing to pay 20 million euros for the player, an amount that would be a significant relief for Flamengo's finances. However, at the last minute, there was a change in the contractual draft, at the request of Flamengo, which led to a change in plans.

The change involved the inclusion of a clause that would allow the use of Wesley in a match for the Copa Libertadores, specifically in the match against Bolívar, in Bolivia, before his transfer. Flamengo's board believed that the player's presence would be crucial for the team's performance at a decisive moment in the continental competition. However, this change caused discomfort in the negotiation and ended up leading to the cancellation of the agreement.

BOARD IS CHARGED AFTER INJURY TO THE LATERAL

What initially appeared to be a prudent measure to ensure the club's best sporting performance, quickly became a nightmare. After the cancellation of the agreement, Wesley, who would be an important player in the clash against Bolívar, suffered an injury that sidelined him. What was supposed to be a strategic victory for Flamengo ended up turning into a huge loss. The club lost not only the 20 million euros from the transfer, but also the player, who was being prepared to play in a crucial match.

The fans, who were already dissatisfied with the club's management in other aspects, now express an even greater revolt. For many, the board failed to make a decision that took into account both the financial and sporting aspects. The idea of retaining the player for a match that he was not even able to play, resulting in the loss of a significant amount of money, generated a wave of criticism on social media and among the club's advisors.
