Mais Querido returns to the field this Thursday (12) to face Bahia in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil. Focused on qualifying for the semifinals, the CRF moved behind the scenes and signed up its new reinforcements: Alex Sandro, Gonzalo Plata and Charly Alcaraz. However, none of the three will be available for tonight's clash.

REINFORCEMENTS ARE NOT YET READY FOR THE GAME

< Despite having been registered for the next phase of the competition, Alex Sandro, Gonzalo Plata and Charly Alcaraz will not be able to play against Bahia. This is because the deadline for registering athletes for the quarterfinals had already expired before the reinforcements arrived. However, if Flamengo advances, the three players will be available to coach Tite in the semi-finals.

The three newly hired players have already been registered in the CBF's Daily Newsletter (BID) since last Monday (09), guaranteeing the possibility of participating in the following stages of the tournament.

EXPECTATION FOR THE SEMIFINAL

If Mengão confirms their classification against Bahia, the club is already aware of their opponent in the next phase: Corinthians. The technical committee, led by Tite, will be able to count on reinforcements Alex Sandro, Gonzalo Plata and Charly Alcaraz, if deemed necessary, for this new stage of the competition.

PRESENT AT MARACANÃ

Although they will not be able to play in the match, the three new reinforcements will be present at Maracanã to cheer on the team and feel the support of the Rubro-Negra Nation. Of the newly hired players, only Charly Alcaraz has already made his debut with the Flamengo shirt. Alex Sandro and Gonzalo Plata are still waiting for their first opportunity to take the field for the club.

The expectation now is for Flamengo's performance in this Thursday's decisive duel, which could guarantee a place in the semi-finals and the chance to see the new recruits in action following the Copa do Brasil.

This Monday (16), rumors emerged involving Bahia's interest in signing Gabigol, striker from Mais Querido. According to the channel Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, Tricolor de Aço would have entered the dispute for Gabigol, who has a contract with Flamengojust until December this year. In addition to Bahia, clubs such as Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Santos would also be keeping an eye on the player.

Despite the speculation, the Bahia board was quick to deny any ongoing negotiations to count on the shirt 99 from Mengão. According to the club's leadership, there is no intention of repeating an operation similar to that carried out with Everton Ribeiro.

BAHIA'S INTEREST IS DENIED BY THE BOARD< /b>

As soon as news of the supposed interest began to circulate, Bahia tried to clarify the situation. In a statement, the club's senior management stated that there are no negotiations to sign Gabigol for next season. The information of possible interest, therefore, was directly denied by Tricolor's directors.

Even so, the attacker remains one of the most targeted names in the transfer market for 2025, as he is in the final stretch of contract with Flamengoand you can now sign a pre-contract with any other team.

CORINTHIANS STAND OUT AS FAVORITE

With Bahia's denial, Corinthians remains the main favorite to sign Gabigol from next year. The possibility of the red-black striker wearing the Timão shirt gains strength, especially after coach Tite appointed Gabigol as the third option for Mengão's attacking command, behind Pedro and Bruno Henrique.
