This last Sunday (9), the Flamengo announced two new reinforcements for the women's under-17 team: goalkeeper Kauane Lima and defender Camila Seguins. Both have played for the Brazilian youth team and will now be Mais Querido players.

GETTING TO KNOW THE PLAYERS

Camila is a figure present in Brazil's under-17 squads. The new defender of Mais Querido has left Ferroviária's base to sign a contract with Rubro-Negro and is already integrated with the new companions. At 17, she still has one more year in the under-17s before moving up to the under-20s, but she can play in both categories from this year onwards. She also has a spell at Internacional.

Kauane is just 13 years old and is already part of Rubro-Negro's under-17 squad. Born in January 2011, the athlete is a great promise in Brazilian football and will now defend Sacred Mantle. And in addition to training with the team, she plays and stands out for Dellas Gol in women's futsal.

BRASILEIRÃO FEMININO U-17 WITH 32 CLUBS

The president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, stated that the plan is to double the number of teams in the under-17 Brazilian Women's Championship. This is because, last season, the competition had 16 clubs and was played between December 13th and 25th. Each team faced their group mates once and the best two advanced to the semi-finals.

“We designed a project last year to hold a competition with girls up to 17 years old. 32 teams, from all federations, competing at national level in the competition. During the school holidays they can be playing and also the press (can cover it in full)”, said Ednaldo, before announcing dates:

“The Brazilian Championship ends on December 8th. The under-17 women's tournament will start on December 15th and end just when the 2025 calendar begins. This is to have visibility and give so many girls who play football across Brazil the opportunity to be seen.”

The Flamengo , always attentive to new football promises, is betting big on Lucas Oliveira, an 18-year-old striker who shone in this year's Rio U20 Cup for Portuguesa-RJ. The young talent arrives at the red-black under-20s with a two-season contract, seeking to show his potential and contribute to the team.

According to information from the FlaBase portal, in partnership with Flazoeiro, the Flamengo's Scouting Department monitored Lucas Oliveira for a month before signing the contract. The detailed observation took place at the Copa Rio U20, where the striker stood out, scoring four goals throughout the tournament. This performance caught the attention of Flamengo's scouts, who saw in Lucas a jewel to be polished.

RUNNING AND DISCIPLINE

Before shining at Portuguesa-RJ, Lucas Oliveira had spells at other major Brazilian football clubs. The young striker has already worn the shirts of Ceará, Goiás and Vasco, accumulating experience and learnings that he will now take to Flamengo. However, it was at Portuguesa-RJ, a team from Ilha do Governador, in Rio de Janeiro, that Lucas really stood out, attracting the attention of Mais Querido.

Tite faces a series of difficulties in defining Flamengo's lineup for the clash against Grêmio, this Thursday (13), valid for the eighth round of the Brasileirão. The coach deals with seven absences and prepares a formation with four original defenders.

In Flamengo's formation, Tite used four defenders, but made adaptations: Léo Pereira played as left back and Léo Ortiz as first midfielder. In this way, Rubro-Negro arrives 'patched' for the match.

FLAMENGO'S MISSINGS

The seven absences complicate Tite's life. Arrascaeta, De La Cruz, Varela, Viña and Erick Pulgar are with the Uruguay and Chile teams for the Copa América and are absent due to call-ups. In addition to the quintet, Ayrton Lucas and Allan are treating thigh injuries and are also left out.

Without left backs (Ayrton Lucas and Viña) and without the starting midfield trio (Pulgar, De La Cruz and Arrascaeta), Tite goes to the base to assemble the team. Wesley, Igor Jesus and Lorran were called up to the Rubro-Negro team for the game later.

PROBABLE FLAMENGO SQUAD

Flamengo's lineup to face Grêmio should be: Rossi, Wesley, Fabrício Bruno, David Luiz, Léo Pereira, Léo Ortiz, Igor Jesus, Lorran, Gerson, Cebolinha and Pedro.
