Due to the environmental tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul, the Grêmiois having to play all its delayed matches in the Libertadores after the end of the group stage of the competition. Last Tuesday (4), the team from Rio Grande do Sul beat Huachipato and secured qualification for the next phase of the competition. Now, the tricolor has a game to play and fight for first place in group C.

Knowing that he could face Brazilian teams in the knockout stages, Renato Gaúcho was approached about the topic. In case of ranking first. Grêmio could face Peñarol in the round of 16, and they already know what they have ahead of them Flamengo, in the quarterfinals, and Palmeiras or São Paulo in the semis. Advancing in second, they can face Fluminense, who are on the other side of the bracket.

However, Renato Gaúcho maintained the normality of his speeches with the maxim of "whoever wants to be champion, doesn't choose an opponent": “ We respect all opponents. Grêmio is big, we’re going to get first place. I can't guarantee that we'll make it, but we'll work to play the second match of the round of 16 at home. I don't know where, but close to our fans. There's no point in choosing an opponent. Grêmio is as big as our opponents. Everyone wants to be champions, Grêmio too”, said Renato Gaúcho, at the end of the duel against Huachipato.

FLAMENGO’S SITUATION AT LIBERTADORES

O Mais Querido came second in Group E and in the draw last Monday (3), Rubro-Negro met their opponent for the round of 16: Bolívar. Thus, the teams will face each other again and Flamengo will have to decide the classification at the altitude of La Paz.

Meanwhile, De La Cruz also returns to the starting 11 after recovering from injury. Finally, Gonzalo Plata and Alex Sandro had good performances against Vasco and should be kept for the match.
