After a good period playing and standing out in the U-20s, Lorran is once again among the Flamengo main squad. The 17-year-old midfielder is on Filipe Luís' list for the team's next match, marking his return to the main group after almost four months away from the call-ups.
The last time Lorran was called up to the professional team was on January 30th. Since then, the midfielder has been through a series of behind-the-scenes moves. He even had advanced talks about a possible transfer to CSKA, in Russia, but the negotiations ended up not moving forward.
With the transfer window ending without an agreement, Lorran was relegated to the U-20 team. There, he became one of the team's key players, with consistent performances and direct involvement in goals and offensive plays. His performance was enough to put his name back on the radar of the red-black coaching staff.
The return to the list of players indicated that the coaching staff led by Filipe Luís is closely monitoring the performance of the promising young players, even amidst strong competition in the main squad. Lorran has been treated internally as an important asset to the club. The move may also be related to Flamengo's need to manage the squad during this period of the season, with games in a row and physical fatigue of some athletes. Lorran's presence gives the creative sector another option.
Despite his young age, Lorran has already gained significant experience in the first team. In 2023, he was integrated into the professional squad and participated in matches under Jorge Sampaoli. His refined technique and reading of the game have always caught the eye in training and youth matches. The club sees the youngster as having a lot of potential, but is also cautious. Since his contract renewal, Flamengo has adopted a strategy of gradual development for the midfielder, avoiding excessive exposure.
