The official launch of Rodrigo Dunshee's campaign for the presidency of Flamengo had its date changed. Initially scheduled for September 30th, the event was postponed to October 14th. The change in schedule can be seen as a strategy to reorganize the agenda and intensify preparations, as the internal dispute at the club is known for its complexity and the engagement of different groups and leaders.
Despite the postponement After the launch event, the formalization of the candidacy did not change. The official registration of Chapa UniFLA, entitled “Para Continuar Champion Em Tudo”, will take place next Monday, September 30th, at the club’s headquarters, located in Gávea. This is a mandatory step in the electoral process and guarantees Dunshee's presence as one of the candidates in the electoral race.
Rodrigo Dunshee, current general and legal vice-president of Flamengo, is a well-known figure behind the scenes at the club. He has experience in prominent roles in the Red and Black administration and, over the last few years, has been directly involved in several negotiations and decisions relevant to Flamengo. The choice of the slogan “To Remain Champion in Everything” reflects the focus on keeping the club at the top of competitions, both on the national and international scene.
Dunshee's campaign promises to emphasize the continuity of the work already carried out by the current management. This includes both maintaining Flamengo as a sporting power and valuing administrative and financial stability, which were pillars during recent terms. This line of action seeks to attract not only the support of more traditional members, but also new voters who have started to follow the club in recent years, with Flamengo's rise in the football and other sports scenes.
Postponing the official launch may be a reflection of the need to align communication strategies and reinforce internal alliances, since Flamengo is marked by intense electoral processes and disputes between groups with different visions and interests for the club's future. The proximity of the registration date also helps the candidate to present themselves with a more solid and organized posture.

The first women's volleyball competition is Mengão's! This Friday (27), Flamengo won the National Cup of Pro-Vôlei Clubs. Against the current Superliga champion, Bernardinho's team played 3 sets to 0 at Minas, with scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-17. The duel took place at Ginásio Wilson Mânica, in Ijuí, Rio Grande do Sul.
The tournament featured three clubs and serves as preparation for the 2024/25 Superliga. On Wednesday (25), Flamengo beat Maringá. On Thursday (26), Minas also beat the team from Paraná. Therefore, this Friday (27th) the big decision took place, which had a packed gym.
Despite being a competition to open the season, Flamengo's victory gives a boost to the season. After all, Minas is the team to beat in Brazilian women's volleyball. Thus, in the last five Superligas, the Belo Horizonte team won four titles and one runner-up. In the squad, there are athletes who have played for the Brazilian team, such as Thaísa, Olympic champion and bronze medalist in this year's edition, in Paris.
SuperligaThe dates of the Women's Super League have not yet been announced. However, there is an expectation that the competition will start in October. In total, 12 teams will play the tournament, in a round-robin system, with the eight best qualifying for the quarter-finals.
In the last edition, after all, Flamengo was eliminated by Praia Clube in the semi-final . Therefore, the goal for 2024/25 is to reach the decision and repeat the title won in 2000/01, when Rubro-Negro beat Vasco, in a historic decision at the Ginásio do Maracanãzinho.

FIFA will announce the venues for the 2025 Super Club World Cup this Saturday (28). The announcement will be made during the Global Citizen Festival. The event will be held in Central Park, New York. FIFA did not detail how many cities and stadiums will host the 2025 edition. This will be the first time that the tournament will feature 32 teams.
The Super World Cup will be held between June 15 and July 13, 2025 The competition already has 30 qualified teams, with three Brazilians among them: Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense. Brazil may have one more representative. This is because Atlético-MG and Botafogo are fighting for the last South American place in the competition — the Libertadores title gives them the place. Peñarol [if they win the Libertadores] and Olímpia [if River wins the Libertadores] are the other teams in the running.
The places are divided into: 12 for Europe, six for South America, four for Asia, Africa and North, Central America and the Caribbean, one for Oceania and one for the host country.
In addition to the remaining MLS spot, which has not yet defined its representative, the other available entry belongs to South America. It is destined for the champion of the edition of 2024 of the Libertadores. If River Plate wins the title, it will be transferred to the Conmebol ranking in FIFA and would already have an owner: Olímpia-PAR.

Luciano Bandeira declared his vote for Rodrigo Dunshee as president of Flamengo and asked for support from the Advocacia Rubro-Negra group

Luciano is a member of the Advocacia Rubro-Negra group, made up only of lawyers who are members of the club, and asks the rest of the members to follow the vote for Rodrigo Dunshee. It is worth noting that other members had already declared their support for the current management.
“We want to build this story, help make this story even greater. President Landim, together with Rodrigo, managed to make the dream of land for the Flamengo stadium come true. It is very important that we have this group leading the process. (…) It is a very important election for Flamengo. (…) I ask everyone who has always accompanied me to help me in the campaign to elect Rodrigo Dunshee president”, said Luciano Bandeira in his speech.
It is worth highlighting that six political groups have already declared support for Rodrigo Dunshee to next president of Flamengo. They are: Fla Esportes; Flamengo Raiz; Our Fla; Red-Black Synergy; União Rubro-Negra and Vanguarda Rubro-Negra.
This is in addition to the groups that have part of the members supporting the candidate in the Flamengo elections: Advocacia RN and FLA+.
The election to define the next president of Flamengo is scheduled to take place on December 9th, a Monday, at 8am, in Gávea. Maurício Gomes de Mattos and Luiz Eduardo Baptista (Bap) are the main opponents to Rodrigo Dunshee at the moment.
Wallim Vasconcellos, Pedro Paulo and Delair Dumbrosck also announced their candidacy. The tickets need to be registered from September 10th to 30th and it is difficult to gather signatures. It will not be surprising, therefore, if a candidate does not achieve the minimum required.
