Goalkeeper recalled clashes he had with a midfielder who reached Mais Querido

0Flamengo goalkeeper Rossi praised midfielder Alcaraz, who could make his debut with the red-black shirt this Sunday, in the game against Corinthians, at 4:00 pm (Brasília time), at Neo Química Arena.
“What can we expect from him? He's a good player. For his age, he looks young, but he has a lot of experience. That's why he played in the Premier League and spent six months at Juventus. He is a player who likes to be close to the goal, playing in the midfielder position, but he is always close to the goal because he likes to score goals. He arrived to help”, said Rossi about his new partner.
The two already know each other from Argentine football and faced each other four times in their home country, and each came out on top once. The goalkeeper emerged victorious on penalties in the first clash, in the semi-final of the Argentine League Cup in May 2022. The midfielder turned things around six months later and scored in the 2-1 victory that guaranteed the title, in extra time, of the Trophy of Champions.
“I played against him two or three times. (In the penalty shootout) He scored the goal, on the cheek, high up, impossible for any goalkeeper. We played at Racing's stadium and drew 0-0. There's a photo with him hugging me from behind. I was face to face with him, he tried to score, and I saved. Then we played that final (Champions Trophy) in November (2022), in San Luís, where he scored the header at the end of extra time. We lost that final”, recalled the goalkeeper.
Despite this, Rossi hopes to be able to help the young midfielder in his adaptation to Brazil and, this time, win titles alongside him. “I will also help him adapt to Brazilian football, but the objective is one: to make Flamengo win, and we will fight for that. I spoke to him a little, I sent him a message the other day when Flamengo announced everything. I welcomed him and said I was here for anything he needed”, he concluded.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.
