0On the afternoon of this Thursday (18), at the CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, the draw for the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil will be held. At 2pm, the entity will draw the matches for the knockout stage of the national competition; see below where to watch live.
Flamengo is qualified for the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil after defeating Amazonas in the two third phase games. Now, Mais Querido will meet his next opponent in the competition. Remembering that the first games are scheduled for the week of July 31st and the return games for the week of August 7th.
DRAW WILL BE DIFFERENT FROM PREVIOUSDifferent from the phase previous, the draw for the round of 16 will not be separated into pots. In other words, all teams can face each other without restrictions. Therefore, it may be possible for Rio and São Paulo classics to take place already in this knockout stage. 0Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.

Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. "The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

A victory will be very important for Rubro-Negro to advance to the semi-final stage of the tournament. Therefore, MRN takes advantage of the moment to list five players from Diego Aguirre's team who deserve a special look at the confrontation.
MAXIMILIANO SILVERA: starter, the striker is the team's top scorer Peñarol in the Libertadores with six goals.
JAVIER CABRERA: the midfielder is the second player with the most assists for Peñarol in the Libertadores: two passes that resulted in goals.
In April 2019, Flamengo visited Peñarol at the Stadium Campeón del Siglo in the last round of the group stage and tied 0-0. According to the score, Rubro-Negro reached 10 points and qualified for the knockout stage of the tournament.
