The future of Flamengoin relation to its emblematic home, the Maracanã , is shrouded in uncertainty. With FIFA's imminent decision on the hosting of the 2027 Women's World Cup, Brazil emerges as the main candidate to host the tournament. If this proposal comes to fruition, Flamengo may be forced to find a temporary alternative for its games.
In the early hours of Thursday to Friday, a FIFA congress in Thailand will define the venue for the tournament, and Brazil is ahead to host the competition. The Brazilian proposal includes Maracanã as the venue for eight games, including the opening match and the final of the championship.
However, for Maracanã to be able to host the Women's World Cup games, some modifications will be necessary. The document evaluating Brazil's candidacy highlights the need to build temporary boxes, reinforce the lawn, expand the press tribune and improve the ceiling, floodlights, screens and electrical installations.
A NEW INVESTMENT BY FLAMENGOThe 2027 Women's World Cup is scheduled to take place between June 24 and July 25, which could create conflicts with the Flamengo. The Brazilian Confederation of Football (CBF) has not yet clarified whether there will be a stoppage in men's competitions during the women's World Cup. However, it is unlikely that Conmebol will suspend the Libertadores and Sul-Americana games. Even if there are no matches during the competition period, Flamengo will need to cede Maracanã to FIFA at least a few weeks before the opening date of the tournament.

Ticket sales for the first leg of the CONMEBOL Libertadores quarter-finals, between Flamengo and opponent still to come to be defined, starts this Monday (9), at 10am. The game will be held on September 19th, at 7pm, at Maracanã. Nação fan members will have priority to purchase through the official website (flamengo.superingresso.com.br).
For the match, all fans who buy tickets online, in any sector of the stadium, will need to use registered facial biometrics to access Maracanã. No other means of access will be permitted for tickets purchased digitally. In addition, fans must have their original documents with photo upon entry.
Access to the stadium's security perimeter will be controlled by a dynamic QR code generated by the application Fla Tickets. Access to the interior of Maracanã will be done through facial biometrics.
