This Sunday (15), Mais Querido drew 1-1 with Vasco, in a match valid for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship, at Maracanã. Despite dominating much of the game, CRF was unable to turn its superiority into a victory. The goals were scored by Gerson, for Mengão, and Philippe Coutinho, for the rival.

From the opening whistle, Mengão imposed themselves on the field, with more than 60% possession of the ball and a strong presence in attack. However, the lack of precision in finishing prevented the team from increasing the score. Goalkeeper Léo Jardim stood out when he prevented the goal from a header from Erick Pulgar.

Gerson, the team captain, opened the scoring in the 26th minute of the second half, after a good exchange of passes between Wesley and Arrascaeta , culminating in a sharp left leg kick. However, Vasco took advantage of a rare counterattack and equalized with Coutinho, after a controversial move involving a penalty request from Léo Pereira.

FLAMENGO DESPERDIÇA CHANCES

In the first half, Mais Querido had several opportunities to take the lead, with emphasis on a play by Arrascaeta, who stole the ball in the attacking field and almost scored, but hesitated with the finish. Vasco, in turn, did little to threaten Rossi's goal, limiting themselves to defending and trying sporadic counterattacks.

The panorama did not change in the second half. Bruno Henrique and Léo Ortiz hit the post, and Mengão's pressure remained intense. Even with Gerson's goal, the team saw Vasco draw in one of their few opportunities.

TABLE SITUATION

With the draw, Flamengo reaches 45 points and remains in fourth place in the Brasileirão, while Botafogo and Palmeiras increase their advantages in leadership. Fla still has one game in hand, which keeps the hope of touching the top spot alive. The result leaves a bitter taste for Mengão, who showed intensity and superiority, but left the field without victory.
