Technician praises team in 3 to 2 over Coritiba at Couto Pereira

It was on an individual basis, but Flamengo eased the pressure with the 3-2 victory over Coritiba at Couto Pereira, this Sunday afternoon. However, the triumph achieved with a goal in added time by Gerson, did not prevent further criticism of the performance.
At the press conference after the match, coach Jorge Sampaoli was asked why the team has not been convincing since the 2-0 win over Grêmio in Porto Alegre, but downplayed the charges:
"These are points of view. The team is costing some situations, for the moment, today they played very well, especially the first half on a difficult field. With Grêmio in the semifinal at Maracanã, I also believe that (Flamengo) was superior. But surely the consolidation that they always talk about still has to result in more time. I think that there are many moments when the team plays better, there is a lot of pressure to win, this also affects some kind of performance. Basically, we have to find higher individual and collective performance that the team does not suffer in any moment of adversity", said the coach.
With the victory, Flamengo jumped to third place, 2 points behind Palmeiras and 13 behind the leader, Botafogo.< /p>
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.
The Rubro-negra lineup follows:Rossi, Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Pulgar, De la Cruz, Gerson and Arrascaeta; Plata and Bruno Henrique.
Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. "The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."
