Flamengo coach Jorge Sampaoli went to court with two accusations against commentator and former player Neto, from Band, and against the São Paulo broadcaster. In one, in the civil part, the Argentine seeks BRL 500,000 for moral damages.
In another, in the criminal area, Sampaoli demands that Neto be condemned to recant himself live, after accusing him of being racist while working at the Santos, in 2019. In the civil suit Sampaoli accuses Neto and the Band of having hurt his honor.
In the program Os Donos da Bola on April 18, Neto said that the former player Serginho Chulapa confided in him in interview that Santos goalkeeping coach Sebastião Martins Oliveira Júnior, better known as Arzul, was mistreated by the coach.
“He (Jorge Sampaoli) was racist at Santos, he never greeted anyone, he never spoke Portuguese:< /p>
'Please, no sir, I'm sorry...'. “That short, idiot. That's a shame, he doesn't know anything about the ball. It's a shame for Flamengo to hire a guy like that”, said Neto at the time.
Later on the same day, on the Baita Amigos program that Neto runs on the paid channel BandSports, he went deeper into the accusations saying that the Santos goalkeeper coach suffered racism from Sampaoli
“A guy who treats Arzul badly, who is black. And that he's just like me, and that he's just like you, and that he's an incredible human being. This guy, Jorge Sampaoli, kept Arzul out of the locker room. He had many people hired before he lost his job. This guy is disgusting. He never treated anyone well”, he said.
Shortly after the repercussion of the presenter's speech, goalkeeper coach Arzul denied that Sampaoli had been racist towards him.
“There was nothing, no nothing racist happened. There was no behavior at all. I believe that information was misinterpreted, a misunderstanding. The information reached Neto differently. I spoke with Neto, I want them to get along well, I like them both”, said Arzul
In addition to the civil part, Sampaoli filed a complaint – crime against Neto for slander, defamation and injury.
