Flamengo has finalized the signing of Saúl Ñíguez, formerly of Atlético Madrid, and has stirred up the Brazilian transfer market. The Flamengo board has moved quickly in negotiations over the past 24 hours to secure the deal this week. Saúl Ñíguez's arrival at Flamengo was initially scheduled for Wednesday (23), but the club decided to bring forward the flight to Tuesday (22). The athlete will land at Tom Jobim International Airport at around 5:45 pm (Brasília time), coming from Madrid, Spain.
The player lands this Tuesday (22), at 5:45 pm, in Rio de Janeiro, on a direct flight from Madrid (IB0269). Flamengo prepared a special plan to receive the player without causing chaos at the airport.
According to reports, the club opted to disembark in an alternative area in Galeão, avoiding contact with the press and fans at this time, to quickly adapt to the city and resolve personal matters.

Opened on August 4, 2023, the Flamengo Museum celebrated its second anniversary this month. To mark the occasion, the club held an event attended by great idols such as Zico, Andrade, Mozer, Nélio, and Olivinha. Mengão's eternal number 10 emphasized the importance of preserving the club's history , which, according to him, had previously been practically forgotten.

In two years, the Museum has welcomed more than 240,000 visitors. The club plans to make Mengão's history "traveling," taking the collection to states in the North and Northeast . Among those honored is Olivinha, considered the "god of race" in basketball:

The celebration in Gávea featured moments where attendees shared memorable stories. Zico, for example, revealed that the goal he celebrated most in his life was Rondinelli's in the 1978 Campeonato Carioca final against Vasco.
The full-back was in agreement with Mengão in the last few months, but reached an agreement and will remain with the red-black shirt for another two years.
