On the night of last Wednesday (15), Brazil has lost one of the biggest names in the history of radio sports. Washington Luiz, known as Apolinho, passed away. Declared red-black, the radio host will be laid to rest at Flamengo's headquarters, as a tribute.

“The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the body of Washington Rodrigues, Apolinho, will be laid to rest this Thursday- fair (16), from noon, at the club's headquarters, in Gávea, Rio de Janeiro.”

Washington Luiz is one of the biggest names in sports communication in the country and quickly stood out as a radio reporter. He ran the 'Show do Apolinho', on Rádio Tupi, since 1999. He was the great creator of well-known catchphrases such as “Fight of Big Dog” and “Pau com Formiga”.

French striker Anthony Martial, currently on the market, presented a robust financial proposal to Flamengo. Since February, his agent has offered the player to Rubro-Negro. Now, the financial terms of the proposal are on the agenda and show that negotiations could be a challenge for the Rio club.

Martial requires a significant financial package to consider a transfer to Flamengo. The amount requested includes a monthly salary of more than R$2 million, in addition to gloves. This amount refers to a three-year contract, which represents a considerable financial commitment for Flamengo. The French striker, who currently plays for Manchester United, has a remarkable track record in Europe. However, the high cost of signing him is being evaluated by the Rio club. Flamengo< /a>, which already has a strong squad and is one of the main clubs in Brazil, needs to evaluate the financial and strategic viability of this signing.

FLAMENGO HAS A COUNTERPROPOSAL

Since February, Martial's proposal has been circulating, but only now have the financial details been released. Martial's request is high and reflects the market standard for players of his caliber. However, Flamengo is aware that this investment will need to be well evaluated, not only in financial terms, but also in terms of the impact it may have on the team's structure and the club's finances.

O Rubro-Negro has shown interest in strengthening the squad and has been looking for quality players to maintain competitiveness at national and international level. Martial's proposal, therefore, is being analyzed with caution. The high cost can impact other areas of the club's budget and influence future negotiations and hiring. In addition to the financial aspect, Flamengo needs to consider Martial's tactical adjustment to the team's game plan. The French striker has a playing style that can add value to the squad, but the club will need to ensure that he fits well into the strategy and playing style proposed by the coach.

Peñarol is preparing intensively for the decisive clash against Flamengo in the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores. The Uruguayan club faces Miramar Misiones this Saturday (07), at the Centenário Stadium, in the 10th round of the Uruguayan Championship. The game will be a crucial opportunity for the team to adjust its rhythm and align its strategies before facing the Brazilian Rubro-Negro next Thursday (19), at Maracanã.

Peñarol coach, Alfredo Arias , confirmed that the team will enter the field with maximum strength against Miramar Misiones. The decision to select the main players reflects the importance of the duel for the team, which is preparing for the high-level international clash against Flamengo. Peñarol does not want to leave any room for mistakes, making the most of each match before the Libertadores semi-final.

FLAMENGO HAS A TOUGH MISSION

The match against Miramar Misiones is an essential step for Peñarol. With the Uruguayan internal competition already quite fierce, the team needs to guarantee good results to remain competitive in the Uruguayan Championship. However, the match also serves as a final test for the players and the coaching staff to adjust their physical and tactical form before the big challenge against Flamengo.

The clash against Flamengo is eagerly awaited. Rubro-Negro, current champion of the Libertadores, is a strong opponent, and Peñarol will have to be in top form to face them. The Uruguayan team needs to be prepared in both tactical and physical terms to face one of the strongest clubs in the South American competition.
