Flamengo continues to face a series of injuries to its squad amid a grueling schedule. After the 2-1 defeat to Corinthians, the club announced another physical problem, this time with Uruguayan right-back Guillermo Varela. On social media, Rubro-Negro reported that Varela felt pain in his hip, which compromised his movements and raised concerns about the player's continuity in the season.
VARELA WILL BE RE-EVALUATED BY THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT
According to the club's official statement, Varela will be re-evaluated by the Medical Department to determine the severity of the injury and the time needed for recovery. "The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Varela felt pain in his right hip and had limited movement. He will be re-evaluated by the red-black DM", stated Flamengo.
The player had to be replaced during the second half of the match against Corinthians, being replaced by Wesley. At the crucial moment of the game, Varela was unable to follow the play that resulted in the opponent's second goal, scored by Ángel Romero, which allowed the attacker to come face to face with goalkeeper Rossi.
OTHERS MISSINGS IN THE RUBRO-NEGRO CAST
Varela is not the only problem in the Flamengo cast. Before him, Flamengo had already lost Michael and De La Cruz, both with muscle injuries in their right thigh. Michael's situation is particularly worrying, as the player will be sidelined for around two months, which further complicates coach Tite's lineup options.
With the FIFA Data break, the Flamengo will have ten days of rest and recovery before their next commitment, scheduled for September 12th. This period will be crucial for the club to be able to recover its injured players and get back on track to winning the Brazilian Championship.

It is worth remembering that in the old regulations, it was determined that if the goalkeeper delayed the ball throw-in, an indirect free kick would be awarded. However, it was rarely respected by referees and goalkeepers.
Thus, Flamengo continues to prepare for its debut in the Libertadores . The Most Beloved takes to the field on Thursday (3), in a clash against Deportivo Táchira (VEN ), at 9:30 pm, at the Polideportivo de Pueblo Nuevo Stadium.

Although the next transfer window only opens in June, Flamengo is already keeping an eye on the market. According to information from journalist Raisa Simplicio, from Goal, Mais Querido is monitoring the situation of Richarlison, from Tottenham .
The English team's striker is at the end of his contract and Tottenham are open to hearing offers for the player in the next transfer window. Despite interest from Brazilian clubs, the athlete maintains his preference to remain in Europe, but is willing to evaluate offers and choose the project that best fits his career.
It is worth remembering that in December 2024, Flamengo made a proposal of R$130 million for Richarlison, but Tottenham ended up refusing. According to information from ESPN, the Rubro-Negro's interest in the striker came from coach Filipe Luís .
Furthermore, the red-black coach would have contacted the striker directly to highlight the desire to have him in the Flamengo squad. However, Richarlison's choice was to remain in England .
So, while Richarlison has yet to define his future, Flamengo is getting closer to having Pedro back. The number 9 was reinstated to the red-black squad this past Monday (31) and should be included in a match soon.
