American gymnast considers Brazilian her main competitor

Hours before the vault final at the Paris 2024 Olympics, American gymnast Simone Biles made a point of praising Rebeca Andrade, her main opponent for gold in the events. In a video shared on her TikTok, Biles highlighted Andrade as her “biggest competitor” and expressed her excitement for the final contest.
“I'll tell you, Rebeca is excellent. I would say she is my biggest competitor. We have very similar overall scores. I haven't been to a competition like this in a while. I'm really excited to compete against her”, said the gymnast, who has already won nine Olympic medals, including two golds in Paris.
Biles also highlighted Rebeca Andrade's resilience: “She is super sweet and managed to overcome a few injuries, so to see her back here is amazing. I am excited. It will be great to compete with her”, added the American.
This is not the first compliment that Simone Biles gives to Rebeca Andrade. Last Thursday, after winning gold in the all-around, Biles had already commented on the Brazilian, who finished with the silver medal.
“I don't want to compete with Rebeca anymore, I'm tired. She is very close, I have never had an athlete so close to me, I had to do my best. I'm excited and proud to compete with her. I know she is a phenomenal athlete, we had very similar scores, so I needed to try my hardest on each device,” said Biles during the press conference.

A fan of the American artist, the gymnast was one of the personalities and fans who participated in the meeting with the diva in Cidade do Rock.
Flavia Saraiva presented the singer with a blue leotard, printed with golden stones forming the word " Brazil". The model belongs to the collection designed by Jade Barbosa and is normally used in training for the Brazilian gymnastics team. Katy Perry arrived in Rio de Janeiro last Tuesday (17), and performed at the Palco Mundo do Rock in Rio on Friday -Friday (20), being the main performance of the festival night.
The singer is one of today's biggest pop divas and marked an entire generation with hits such as "Teenage Dream", "Dark Horse" , "Roar", "Firework" and "California Gurls". The group met with the singer in Cidade do Rock and listened exclusively to the diva's next album, named "143".

Last Monday (2), the Olympic medalists of Mais Querido in Paris returned to training at Ginásio Cláudio Coutinho, in Gávea. This was the first training session after the tournament and the athletes have already started preparing for the Brazilian Championship.
The championship will be held between the two days. September 15th and 22nd, in João Pessoa, Paraíba. Flamengo will be represented by the quartet: Rebeca Andrade, Flávia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa and Lorrane Oliveira.
