UNDER TITE'S COMMAND, FLAMENGO HAS DIFFICULTIES IN TURNING GAMES

Rubro-Negro's only comeback, with the current coach, was in the 6-1 defeat of Vasco, in the seventh round of this year's Brasileirão

The latest matches of Flamengo demonstrated a problem that the team, under Tite's command, only managed to reverse once. Since the beginning of the coach's time at Mengão, there have been ten matches in which Mais Querido started behind on the scoreboard and only managed to turn things around in just one opportunity, against Vasco.

The historic rout over their rival, 6-1, it was the only game in which the Flamengo coach won after the team lost. In the other nine clashes, there were six negative results and three draws. The fact is that the fans embrace the team in moments of disadvantage, supporting the team to turn the game around. However, it has not been enough for the team to reverse itself in times when it is behind in games.

Flamengo is the team of the turnaround

The recent difficulty of the Rubro-Negro in turning games around is a worrying reason. However, historically, Flamengo is the team with the highest number of comebacks in the history of the Brasileirão in the straight points era (2003-2024). In total, there are 52 matches won after falling behind on the scoreboard, the last being against Vasco, in a 6-1 victory.

It is clear that the team's power of reaction has not been one of its strong points , especially in the last two matches, against Cuiabá and Fortaleza, respectively. Another recurrence that raises alarm is the issue of conceding a goal in the first few minutes, which disrupts an entire initially established strategy, in addition to increasing the physical and mental exhaustion of athletes.

With the postponement of the game against Internacional, Flamengo will only return to the field on July 20th, Saturday, against Criciúma. The match will be in Brasília, at 4pm, with Mengão in charge. Tite and the coaching staff will have time to recover and readjust the team. Furthermore, the Uruguayan quartet should be available to the coach.

Following is the Red and Black lineup:Rossi, Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Pulgar, De la Cruz, Gerson and Arrascaeta; Plata and Bruno Henrique.

Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. Check it out:

"The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."
