Flamengo reaches the final of the Campeonato Carioca for the sixth consecutive time, reinforcing its position as the biggest winner of the competition, with a total of 37 titles in its history. Since 2019, Rubro-Negro has been a constant presence in the state finals.

During the first phase of the championship, the team demonstrated its superiority by achieving the best campaign, accumulating 27 points in 11 games played. Furthermore, the team led by coach Tite boasts an impressive unbeaten record, conceding just one goal throughout the competition.

FLAMENGO WILL HAVE 3 DOWNS TO THE DECISION AGAINST NOVA IGUAÇU

With the return of players who were active during the FIFA Date, there are three likely absences from the team. Gabigol, suspended due to attempted fraud in an anti-doping test, in addition to Wesley and Gerson, in the process of recovery with the medical department, are the players who are not available for Tite at the moment.

The striker's situation is uncertain, with his defense appealing the decision. The full-back is an unknown for the return game against Nova Iguaçu, on April 7, while the midfielder is only expected to return in May. Flamengo played its last match on March 16, drawing 0-0 with Fluminense, thus guaranteeing its place in the final of the Campeonato Carioca.

Flamengo and Nova Iguaçu face off this Saturday (30.04 ), at 5pm, at Maracanã, for the first match of the 2024 Carioca Championship finals.
