Brazilian midfielder Oscar, currently at Shanghai Port in China, could soon leave Chinese football. In a recent interview, the player revealed that family issues are weighing on his decision and that his future will be defined by the end of this year. Among the possibilities is a possible return to Brazil, which rekindles the interest of Flamengo, a club that has already shown interest in signing it in the past.

Oscar, aged 33, mentioned that proximity to family is an important factor in his next career choice. “My mother is getting older, my sisters are having children, we want to be close. Now there is a salary limit, so it is more difficult to renew. I will wait for the end of the year and decide,” he said in an interview with the newspaper “Folha de São Paulo”. The player, who has been in China for around eight years, also highlighted his desire to define his destiny quickly: “The sooner we know, the better.”

INTEREST FROM CLUBS IN BRAZIL AND ABROAD

The midfielder confirmed that he has already received proposals from clubs from different parts of the world, including Brazil, Europe and Qatar. However, a possible return to Brazilian football would not only bring him closer to his family, but could also put him back on the Brazilian national team's radar. "In Europe or Brazil, which have more visibility, I would certainly have a better chance", explained Oscar, who also recalled his good relationship with Dorival Júnior, current coach of the Seleção.

FLAMENGO FOLLOWS AN EYE ON OSCAR

O Flamengo, which has already tried to sign Oscar on other occasions, may negotiate with the player again. In 2022, the CRF came close to reaching an agreement with the athlete, but the transfer ended up not materializing. At the time, Marcos Braz, the club's vice-president of football, lamented the situation: "He actually wanted to come. We tried in the last 48 hours and the Chinese didn't allow it", he declared.

The possibility Oscar reinforcing Mengão is once again being considered, especially given the changes in his career and the player's desire to return to Brazil. The outcome should occur by the end of the year, when the midfielder will decide his next destination.
