Bruno Spindel, executive director of Flamengo, expressed his concern during the post-game press conference between Flamengo and Fortaleza. His statement made it clear that arbitration has been a source of great concern for the Rio club. "We are very scared about the refereeing errors," Spindel said with a tone of concern visible on his face. He highlighted the importance of games being decided fairly and correctly, and emphasized that the quality of refereeing needs to improve so that the championship can be decided on the field, and not by controversial decisions made by referees.

Bruno Spindel's concern reflects the dissatisfaction that many fans and teams have felt regarding the quality of refereeing decisions throughout the season. Refereeing errors have the potential to significantly influence the outcome of a game, and this can have serious consequences on the outcome of the championship.

Spindel highlighted that football is a passionate and unpredictable sport, where emotion and competition must prevail. For him, the uncertainty of results is part of the sport's charm, but refereeing errors should not be a determining factor in this aspect. The quality of games and fairness in decisions must be priorities.

Spindel's statement also indicates that Flamengo is not alone in its concerns. Other clubs, fans and even the sports press have addressed this issue on a recurring basis. Everyone shares the desire for Brazilian football to maintain its integrity and fairness, and for the quality of refereeing to live up to the spectacle that the sport provides.

Spindel's quote, "We hope that the quality improves and that the championship be decided on the field and not off," is a simple but powerful appeal. It emphasizes the need for matches to be resolved by the teams' performance on the field, and not by controversial refereeing decisions that generate controversy and erode the credibility of the sport.

It is important to remember that referees play a fundamental role in football, and their job is not easy. However, the pressure for a high level of performance is inherent to the role, given the importance of the decisions they make. Spindel is not asking for perfection, but rather a consistent improvement in the quality of refereeing.

Bruno Spindel's statement is also an appeal to the championship organization and Brazilian football authorities to take measures to ensure an environment of fair and balanced play. This could include more rigorous training for referees, the use of technology to aid decisions, and greater transparency regarding referee performance reviews.

Furthermore, Spindel's statement demonstrates the importance of voice of clubs and sports directors in defending the interests of Brazilian football. They are not only concerned with the results of their clubs, but also with the integrity and quality of the sport as a whole.

In short, Bruno Spindel's statement at Flamengo's post-match press conference reflects a genuine concern with the quality of refereeing in Brazilian football. It highlights the importance of matches being decided on the field of play, fairly and impartially, rather than being influenced by refereeing errors. Its simple but direct appeal echoes the sentiments of many football fans who want to see a sporting spectacle of high quality and integrity. It is a call to action to improve the standard of refereeing and ensure that Brazilian football continues to be an exciting and unpredictable, but, above all, fair sport.

Flamengo entered the field on Thursday night. With a packed Maracanã, Tite's men played the first match of the Libertadores quarter-finals against Peñarol (URU). The objective was to play a good game and take an advantage for the return game, next week. In this sense, the Rio team ended up disappointing the more than 60 thousand paying guests at the stadium and lost 1-0, in one of the team's worst matches of the year.

Summary

Peñarol It started well and Peñarol soon showed that it would play on the red and black error. Therefore, the Uruguayans opened the scoring after 12 minutes, with Cabrera, in a counterattack. Soon after, Flamengo responded with Plata's header hitting the post. But the red and black team had difficulty creating chances. In the final stretch of the first half, Flamengo grew and had great opportunities to draw. Bruno Henrique, alone, headed over goalkeeper Aguerre, who also made a great save from Arrascaeta's shot.

In the second half, Flamengo came back even better, but came up against the strong Uruguayan marking and the lack of creativity to reach the opponent's goal. Tite moved the sides, which gave Flamengo more speed, however, it had little effect due to a terrible night from Arrascaeta and De la Cruz. As a result, the result did not change and now Flamengo needs to reverse the situation away from home next week.

What now?

With the result, Flamengo will need to win by at least two goals to guarantee one of the places in the Libertadores semi-finals. The match takes place in Uruguay, next Thursday. However, Fla needs to turn the key, because there is a Brazilian Championship game to play on the weekend. Tite's men will face Grêmio, away from home, next Sunday, at 6:30 pm;

Last Wednesday (18), representatives from Flamengo and Caixa Econômica Federal held another meeting to resolve the impasse surrounding the Gasologista land, acquired by the club in July. The meeting had the support of Rio de Janeiro City Hall and the Attorney General's Office (AGU), and a new meeting scheduled for next week, in Brasília, could seal the definitive agreement. The information was released by journalist Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper "O Globo".

Mengão's board of directors, represented by president Rodolfo Landim, vice-general Rodrigo Dunshee, CEO Reinaldo Belotti and vice-president of equity Marcos Bodin, was optimistic about the possibility of a solution soon. Caixa questions the amount paid by the club at the land auction, but everything indicates that an additional amount could resolve the legal conflict by next month.

INVOLVEMENT OF THE CITY OF RIO

The meeting was also attended by deputy Pedro Paulo and the club's director of external relations, Cacau Cotta, who have acted as intermediaries between the club and the mayor from Rio, Eduardo Paes. In August, a meeting involving the bank's president, Carlos Vieira, president Lula and mayor Eduardo Paes had already signaled the path to an agreement.

IMPORTANCE OF THE AGREEMENT FOR FLAMENGO

Mais Querido's director of external relations, Cacau Cotta, highlighted that the agreement is the ideal way to give peace of mind to the club. "For the club, a good agreement is always better than an eternal discussion about values. The land has already been expropriated. The agreement is ideal to eliminate any doubts and for Flamengo to have the necessary peace of mind to begin the work", said Cotta.

The transfer window is close to closing. However, just like Flamengo, other clubs in Europe remain active in the market, making new signings. This is the case of Estrela Amadora (POR), which completed the purchase of Igor Jesus. The information was confirmed by Bruno Spindel.

“For Estrela Amadora (destination of Igor Jesus), from Portugal. It is a definitive transfer and we hope it can be completed by tomorrow”, confirmed Bruno Spindel, before entering Galeão International Airport. The director also said again that Mais Querido could sell other players in this transfer window.

"Other possible departures (could happen), but I can't comment. There are some markets that closed on the 30th, others on the 2, but there are others that close on the 16th, the 13th. These are questions that we are evaluating, what proposal we can come up with, always with total focus on the sporting side, so that we can have the most qualified and strongest squad possible. group is very strong to face the three competitions”, concluded Spindel.

SALE OF IGOR JESUS

Because it is not being used as much by Tite, the Flamengo decided to release Igor Jesus to Estrela Amadora. Mais Querido will receive 2 million euros (R$ 12.4 million) for 50% of the midfielder's rights. Thus, Rubro-Negro will keep the other 50%. Spindel, the expectation is that the sale will be completed by this Sunday (1).

FOCUS ON THE NEXT GAME

Without Igor Jesus, who was released by the club to prepare to travel to Portugal, Flamengo's squad embarked for São Paulo, to face Corinthians this Sunday (1), at 4pm, at Neo Química Arena.
