Hired to be Tite's technical assistant at Flamengo, Vinícius Bergantin officially said goodbye to Ferroviária this Sunday (21). The coach used social media to thank managers and players from the São Paulo team for the opportunity and participation in his achievement of going to a giant like Mengão.
The farewell on the edge of the field was a draw with São Bernardo , last Saturday (20), for the 14th round of Serie C. Bergantin leaves the team undefeated in fifth place in the competition, with seven wins and seven draws, and classification for the next phase forward. In his farewell text, he highlights that he will continue to support the team.
“I thank the employees, the directors and the players throughout the process, which was quite difficult at times, but also quite true. I am very grateful to the club's management for supporting us in all the difficult times we have had and for maintaining a structure for developing work at a high level. I made great friends in Araraquara, I was very happy during this period, we managed to achieve important numbers and achievements, so far, on the field. Now I'm rooting for the team and the city. If I'm leaving for a Brazilian football giant, you have a lot of participation in all of this. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much”, published Flamengo's new assistant.
Former defender, Vinícius Bergantin caught Tite's attention due to the good defensive system he set up at Ferroviária. In addition to the unbeaten record in Series C, the team has the best defense with only five goals conceded. The solidity in the defensive phase was what made Flamengo open negotiations about 10 days ago, according to the “ge” portal.
In total, the coach took charge of the team in 25 games and conceded 12 goals. In addition to the five in the third division, the team was leaked seven times in 12 matches in Paulista's Série A2. Coach of professional teams since 2018, he also has stints at Ituano, Inter de Limeira, Santo André, CSA and Retrô.

Bergantin will join Tite's commission as well as the other assistants, but his day-to-day role will be to focus on defense training. The coach wanted someone to be responsible for the sector during the activities and saw an ideal profile in the new hire.
In this way, Tite's technical committee at Flamengo now has six members: Matheus Bachi, César Sampaio, Cléber Xavier and Bergantin are assistants, Fábio Mahseredjian is a physical trainer and Lucas Oliveira is a performance analyst.

At just 18 years old, Léo Nannetti took center stage in the U-20 World Cup final at the Maracanã Stadium. The Flamengo goalkeeper was instrumental in the 2-2 draw in regulation time and shone in the penalty shootout , saving two shots in the 6-5 victory over Barcelona. The goalkeeper's impeccable performance cemented Mengão's title, securing their second title in the intercontinental youth competition.
Before the ball rolled, Léo Nannetti said he received a special message from Agustín Rossi, the starting goalkeeper for the professional squad. The encouragement served as fuel for a great performance: " Rossi sent me a message before the game to reassure me. I was able to put into practice what he and the goalkeeping coach, André, had said. We did a very detailed study and, thank God, I was able to be decisive," he said.
Emotional after the match, Nannetti highlighted the importance of the moment he experienced and the trajectory he built at the club: "It's wonderful to win this title so young alongside my brothers. I've been at Flamengo since 2016. Winning a World Cup with them is unforgettable," he declared.
With solid performances, the goalkeeper confirms his status as a promising young player. He has made 17 official appearances in 2025 and has established himself as one of the most promising players of the 2007 generation.
While the young goalkeeper celebrates, the professional team prepares to face Vitória this Monday (25), at 9 pm (Brasília time) , at Maracanã. More than 35 thousand tickets have already been sold, and the expectation is that the audience will exceed 50 thousand fans.

In a packed Maracanã, Flamengo beat Barcelona on penalties 6-5 , after a thrilling draw in normal time, and secured their second U-20 World Cup title this Saturday (23). The victory consolidated the good moment of the red-black youth team, which once again overcame one of the main clubs in Europe .
Among the protagonists was Matheus Gonçalves , who had a special afternoon. The striker, about to say goodbye to the category, celebrated the achievement with emotion: "It was special. We were raised together since we were little, it has a special taste. My last title with the under-20. I have to congratulate Léo (Nannetti, goalkeeper) and Bruno (Pivetti, coach). It's the second Intercontinental and we are two-time champions. Very happy for everything", he declared.
At 20 years old, having turned 20 on August 18th, the attacking midfielder will dedicate himself exclusively to the first team under Filipe Luís . In 2025, he made 15 professional appearances , including three goals in the Campeonato Carioca.
Despite the confidence of the coaching staff, Gonçalves has only played 313 minutes on the field this season , making his streak difficult due to the strong competition for position with Luiz Araújo, Samuel Lino and Gonzalo Plata.
Interest in Matheus Gonçalves isn't new. The player was nearly traded to Cruzeiro for €3.5 million, but the deal fell through . However, foreign clubs remain vigilant: CSKA Moscow (Russia) and Olympiacos (Greece) are evaluating the possibility of formalizing offers before the international window closes in September.
More than 50,000 fans are expected to support Mais Querido, who will face the Bahian team this Monday in the Brasileirão.
