Deportivo Táchira (VEN), Flamengo 's opponent in the last round of the Libertadores group stage, is enjoying a good moment in the Venezuelan Championship and could take to the field with an alternative formation at Maracanã on May 28. According to the championship rules, the first-place team in each quadrangular group advances to the final. Táchira , with nine points, has a five-point lead over Carabobo and can confirm its spot in advance. This increases the possibility that coach Edgar Perez Greco will rest his main players in the duel against Flamengo.
In the Libertadores, Táchira's situation is the opposite. The Venezuelan team has already been eliminated from Group C, without scoring any points after five rounds. Last Tuesday (13), Greco fielded a mixed team against Central Córdoba, resting five starters. The 2-1 defeat kept the club in last place and reinforced its priority in the domestic tournament.
Given the current scenario, the team is likely to go to Maracanã just to fulfill its fixture list. Flamengo returns to the field this Sunday (5), at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), to face Bahia at Arena Fonte Nova, for the 27th round of the Brazilian Championship. The clash promises a full house: so far, more than 45 thousand tickets have already been sold , reinforcing the expectation of a large audience in Salvador.
Ticket sales began last Sunday (28), with priority check-in for members of the Tô na Fonte category. Even after the general opening, members still have access to purchase. Prices range from R$33 to R$280, with half-price tickets available and free for children up to 11 years old. The section designated for Flamengo fans is already sold out .
On the field, the match has strategic importance for both sides. Bahia, defeated by Botafogo in the previous round, is trying to re-enter the top four and also depends on the results of Botafogo and Mirassol.
