Corinthians is going through a delicate moment in the Brazilian Championship, fighting to escape relegation. This Sunday (1), the team led by Ramón Díaz faces Flamengo, in a decisive clash at the Neo Química Arena. The game, which coincides with the São Paulo club's 114th anniversary, is seen by the technical committee as a true final.
Emiliano Díaz, assistant coach of Corinthians and son of coach Ramón Díaz, highlighted the importance of the confrontation at a press conference. According to him, the duel against Flamengowill be “life or death” for Timão, who currently occupies 18th place in the Brasileirão table, with 22 points. The team is just two points behind Fluminense, the first team outside the relegation zone.
To guarantee the best possible performance against Mengão, coach Ramón Díaz decided to rest almost all of the starters from the previous match, prioritizing the team's physical preparation for Sunday's clash. “The priority for us is the Brasileirão. Sunday we have a final and it will be a war. The team is prepared for this and the fans can be sure that we will give it our all on Sunday”, said Emiliano Díaz.
The clash against Flamengo takes place on a symbolic day for Corinthians, which celebrates 114 years of founding this Sunday. The expectation is for a full house at the Neo Química Arena, with the fans supporting the team in one of the most important games of the season.
In addition to the game against Corinthians, Flamengo is also paying attention to the regularization of its new reinforcements, Alex Sandro and Carlos Alcaraz. The club is racing against time for the players to have their names published in the CBF's Daily Newsletter (BID) this Friday (30), making it possible for both players to be available for Sunday's clash.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. Red-and-black striker is the target of speculation in the transfer market

This Monday (16), rumors emerged involving Bahia's interest in signing Gabigol, striker from Mais Querido. According to the channel Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, Tricolor de Aço would have entered the dispute for Gabigol, who has a contract with Flamengojust until December this year. In addition to Bahia, clubs such as Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Santos would also be keeping an eye on the player.
Despite the speculation, the Bahia board was quick to deny any ongoing negotiations to count on the shirt 99 from Mengão. According to the club's leadership, there is no intention of repeating an operation similar to that carried out with Everton Ribeiro.
As soon as news of the supposed interest began to circulate, Bahia tried to clarify the situation. In a statement, the club's senior management stated that there are no negotiations to sign Gabigol for next season.
