Coach Tite explained the absence of Gabriel Barbosa, known as Gabigol, in the latest squads and games for Flamengo. According to the coach, the striker faces a series of physical problems that have compromised his performance on the field since his arrival at the club. Furthermore, recurring injuries and the lack of continuity at a high intensity level have been determining factors in the player not being available in important matches.

Gabigol, who has become a fundamental player at Flamengo in recent years, has been suffering from a loss of rhythm in the game and, consequently, a drop in performance. According to Tite, the attacker is not in ideal conditions to compete at the highest level, which justifies his absence from the most recent squads.

FLAMENGO HAS A PROBLEM AHEAD

The main point raised for Tite to justify Gabigol's absence is the player's physical condition. He mentioned that the striker has not been able to maintain regularity in terms of intensity during training and matches. This directly affects the athlete's performance, who is no longer able to perform in the same way as before. For Tite, the lack of continuity at a high level of performance is one of the biggest concerns.

This scenario calls into question the ability of Gabigolin contributing effectively to the team, since Flamengo has a tight schedule, with important games both in national and international competitions. Tite was direct in pointing out that, at the moment, the player does not have the appropriate physical conditions to face this pace of play.

A new case of racism in Brazilian football has brought to light one of the most delicate and persistent issues in society: racial prejudice. During the last game between Flamengoand Grêmio, held at the Arena do Grêmio, in Porto Alegre, the player Carlinhos, from Flamengo, was the target of racist insults by two fans of the opposing team. The incident, recorded on video and widely publicized on social media, generated great repercussion and indignation from fans, clubs and entities linked to football.

The incident occurred close to the access tunnel to the Arena's changing rooms. from Grêmio. In a video that circulates widely on the networks, it is possible to hear a man and a woman directing racist insults at Carlinhos, calling him a "little monkey", a term that is clearly racist. The recording quickly went viral, bringing to light once again the issue of racism in football stadiums, a problem that, unfortunately, still persists in many parts of the world, including Brazil.

UNTIL WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN?

The reactions were immediate. Flamengo issued an official note repudiating the act and demanding action from the competent authorities and the Grêmio board. The Rio Grande do Sul club also spoke out, stating that it repudiates any type of discrimination and would take the necessary measures to identify and punish those involved.

The Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul, responsible for investigating the case, has already began investigations to identify the perpetrators of the offenses. Based on the images released, it is expected that those involved will be identified and held responsible for the crime of racial insult, as provided for in Brazilian legislation. The crime of racial insult is provided for in article 140 of the Brazilian Penal Code, with a penalty that can vary from one to three years in prison and a fine. In recent years, Brazilian justice has toughened its fight against this type of crime, especially in cases occurring at sporting events, where the exposure of acts of discrimination is amplified by the presence of fans, media and live broadcasts.

< In addition to the police investigation, both the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) must also comment on the case. In previous situations, the STJD has already applied severe punishments to clubs whose fans were caught committing acts of racism, including fines, loss of points and even games behind closed doors.
