Coach Tite, who was previously considered "untouchable" in Flamengo is now facing a moment of high pressure and instability in the position. According to information obtained by GOAL, the coach has lost prestige internally, and the continuity of his work will directly depend on the results in the next clashes. Despite the delicate scenario, an exit before the game against Athletico Paranaense, on Sunday, at Maracanã, is considered unlikely. On Wednesday (2), Rubro-Negro will face Corinthians in the first match of the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil, which could be decisive for Tite's stay.

Dissatisfaction with the team's performance team is not new and began to emerge even before the last FIFA Date. At that time, the board was still trying to understand the causes of the lower-than-expected performance and considered that the physical fatigue of the athletes and the sequence of difficult games were the main factors. However, after the break, an improvement in the team's performance was expected, but the elimination against Peñarol, upon returning to competition, frustrated these expectations. The defeat to the Uruguayan team was a hard blow, especially because the board sees this competition as the most important on the red and black calendar. With that, the warning signal was turned on once and for all.

FLAMENGO AND TITE NO LONGER SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE

In addition to the problems on the field, < href="https://gazetadourubu.com/noticia/arbitragem-de-flamengo-x-corinthians-esta-definida" target="_blank">Flamengois experiencing a moment of uncertainty outside the four lines. The club's presidential elections are scheduled for the beginning of December, and the scenario is completely open. Football-related issues have dominated discussions between the candidates, and the recent poor results put even more pressure on the current situation, led by Rodolfo Landim. Rodrigo Dunshee, current vice-president and current candidate, will be officially presented as head of the ticket next Monday (30).

The electoral campaign within Flamengo brings an additional challenge for Tite, as that the team's performance will have a direct impact on Dunshee's prospects as a candidate. Negative results could undermine internal support and complicate the dispute. On the other hand, a positive performance in the next games could give new impetus to both Tite and Dunshee's team, as victories against strong opponents, such as Corinthians in the Copa do Brasil, could change the general perception and reduce the pressure .

Despite this scenario, there is a strong movement behind the scenes, with supporters of Landim and Dunshee calling for Tite's immediate departure. For this group, the dismissal now would have a positive impact and would show a change of direction in the management of the team, which could be explored as an asset during the electoral period. However, a decision like this would also bring risks, especially at a time when Flamengo is about to begin a decisive phase in the Copa do Brasil, one of the few titles left in the season.

Tite's situation in Flamengohas become increasingly complicated. Although the coach arrived with great expectations and support from the board and fans, recent results and the lack of evolution in the team's performance generated a climate of instability. Tite's possible dismissal, however, still depends on a crucial factor: the outcome of the Copa do Brasil. Despite the internal pressure, Flamengo's board does not intend to make a hasty decision before the end of the competition.

Behind the scenes, support for the coach has decreased significantly. What was previously seen as a signing that could add experience and consistency to the squad, is now considered a gamble that did not yield what was expected. Dissatisfaction is evident both in the football department and among members of the club's leadership, who are already discussing scenarios for the future if Flamengo fails to advance in the Copa do Brasil.

A TERRIBLE CAMPAIGN THIS SEASON

The expectation, however, is that Tite will remain until the end of the tournament, as the competition is treated as the last opportunity for the coach to reverse the situation and justify his stay. The assessment is that, despite the criticism, the team still has a chance of being champion and that changing command at this time could compromise planning and have a negative impact on the athletes' performance.

On the other hand, What can be seen is a change in attitude on the part of leaders who, previously, gave public declarations of trust and support for Tite. Now, communication about the coach's future has become more cautious and reserved, signaling an opening for changes in the technical command. Talks about a possible successor are already circulating behind the scenes, but everything depends on how the next few weeks unfold.

Tite, who arrived at Flamengowith a successful record and strong credentials, was unable to implement a consistent playing style that suits the squad. The lack of tactical variation and fluctuating results called into question his ability to deal with pressure and command a group full of stars. This not only generated distrust among the board, but also had a negative impact on the players, who no longer demonstrated the same level of commitment on the field.

Flamengo will face Corinthians next Wednesday (02), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in the first game of the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil. Goiás referee Wilton Pereira Sampaio will be responsible for refereeing Flamengo x Corinthians , with Bruno Raphael Pires (GO) and Bruno Boschilla (PR) as assistants. The VAR will be under the supervision of Rodolpho Toski Marques from Paraná. It is important to highlight that this match is crucial, as it is worth an advantage in the fight for a place in the final of the Copa do Brasil.

Campaign in the Copa do Brasil

Flamengo entered the Copa do Brasil in the third phase, where they started beating Amazonas with 1-0 victories in both the first and second rounds. In the round of 16, the team faced Palmeiras, winning the first leg 2-0 and losing the second leg 1-0, totaling an aggregate score of 2-1. In the quarter-finals, Rubro-Negro guaranteed its classification by winning Bahia, again 1-0, both at Arena Fonte Nova and Maracanã.

The elimination of Flamengoin the Copa Libertadores was not an accident on the road, but a reflection of structural problems and mistaken decisions that have been accumulating for months. The lack of evolution in the team's performance, combined with questionable choices by the board and Tite's inability to correct obvious deficiencies, ended up resulting in a failure that was already underway. It is no surprise that the team fell by the wayside against Olimpia, especially considering the stance and planning adopted.

The main point of criticism begins with the assembly of the squad. Since Pedro's injury, Flamengo has lacked a suitable replacement. The option to keep Carlinhos and Gabriel, the “Gabi-ex-gol”, as attacking alternatives, proved to be a serious error. Carlinhos is a young man still developing and should not be played in such a pressure situation. Gabriel, once the protagonist, is going through a technical and emotional phase far below expectations, and was unable to find himself in the team under Tite's command.

FLAMENGO HAS FAILURE IN THE 2024 SEASON

The lack of planning was evident when, instead of looking for alternatives on the market, the board opted for internal solutions that did not have the capacity to replace Pedro's presence in the attack. This disproportionate reliance on limited pieces was costly and exposed the inefficiency of the offensive sector in decisive moments. The mistaken view that Flamengo could maintain the same level without its main striker proved to be a blunder.

The situation gets worse when analyzing the collective performance. Flamengo, which until then was known for its dominant style of play, has lost that identity. The team started to become predictable and with glaring flaws in marking. Under Tite's command, a tactical adjustment and a recovery of confidence were expected. However, this did not happen. On the contrary, the team seemed to lose itself even more on the field, showing a lack of defensive organization and, mainly, an absence of creativity in the construction of plays.

Another highlight was the performance of the defense, which fluctuated throughout the competition. Individual mistakes and the difficulty of positioning correctly in basic moves cost important goals and ended up determining elimination. Players like Fabrício Bruno, who stood out in the Brazilian Championship, did not maintain the same level in the decisive games of the Libertadores. This highlights the need for a reformulation in the sector and the search for pieces that can really add value to high-level competitions.
