With a contract until the end of the season, coach Tite is not expected to remain at Flamengo for 2025. The club will have an election on December 9th, and the main teams have already indicated internally their preference for other names for Rubro's technical command -Black. In this scenario, Grêmio appears as a possible new home for Adenor, according to information from Portal do Gremista.

According to journalist Natalia Fontoura, Tite is seen behind the scenes at Grêmio as a good option, if Renato Gaucho does not continue at the club. Portaluppi has received criticism from fans, and his contract also ends in December. Tite already has an important history at Grêmio, where he was between 2001 and 2003, a period in which he won the Campeonato Gaúcho and the Copa do Brasil in 2001.

Still in charge of Flamengo, Tite will face Grêmio this Sunday (22), sparing the starting team due to the focus on the decisive clash against Peñarol in the Libertadores. In the first leg of the quarter-finals, Rubro-Negro was defeated 1-0, making the second leg crucial for Flamengo's aspirations in the continental competition.

Tite clashes against Grêmio for Flamengo

Since taking over Flamengo in September 2023, Tite has already faced Grêmio on two occasions. In last year's Brasileirão, Rubro-Negro was defeated 3-2 at the Arena. However, in the first round this year, Flamengo came back and won 2-1, with two goals from Luiz Araújo.

On Sunday night (22), Flamengo faces Grêmio, in the 27th round of the Brasileirão. Mais Querido has not been performing well in the competition, as it comes from a defeat and a draw. In this way, Tite will try to make the team perform as expected to leave with three points from Porto Alegre.

For the confrontation, coach Tite decided to preserve 12 players. They are: Rossi, Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira, Alex Sandro, Erick Pulgar, Léo Ortiz, De la Cruz, Arrascaeta, Plata, Gerson and Bruno Henrique. Thus, the coach will send a reserve team.

Flamengo can count on an important surprise in the starting line-up for the clash against Peñarol (URU), this Thursday (26), for the return of the quarter-finals of the Libertadores. In training held this Sunday (22), Tite's technical committee tested the team with Gabigol among the starters, according to the portal 'Coluna do Fla'. Sign-up tested this Sunday:

Rossi;

Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro;

Léo Ortiz, Gerson and Arrascaeta;

Plata , Bruno Henrique and Gabigol.

Gabigol was not included in the game against Grêmio, which also takes place this Sunday (22) in the Brasileirão, in Porto Alegre. For this match, Tite traveled without the 11 starting players who played against Peñarol last Thursday (19), in addition to Léo Ortiz. Thus, training at Ninho do Urubu was led by assistant Matheus Bachi, and a possible formation for the decisive Libertadores duel was tested.

Flamengo was defeated 1-0 by Peñarol, at Maracanã, in first game of the Libertadores quarter-finals. Now, Rubro-Negro needs to win by two goals in Uruguay to guarantee a place in the semi-finals.

Return match

The return match between Flamengo and Peñarol will be held on September 26th (Thursday), at 7pm, the same time as the first leg.
