Flamengo fans organize to hold an "aerofla" when boarding for Uruguay

 On Thursday (26), Flamengo has one of the most important games of the season. The team faces Peñarol, at 7pm (Brasília time), in the second game of the Libertadores quarter-finals. As they lost the first match, at Maracanã by 1-0, Tite's men need to win by at least two goals to guarantee their place in the tournament's semi-finals. 

In the first leg, Flamengo was defeated by a score of 1 x 0 at Maracanã. As a result, Mais Querido needs to win by two goals to qualify in normal time. Aware of the difficulty and that they need to show unconditional support, Flamengo fans are mobilizing on social media to perform the famous “Aerofla”, with the aim of encouraging the squad for the decisive game.


After training at CT Ninho do Urubu, the club's delegation travels to Uruguay this Tuesday afternoon (24), two days before the match, on a chartered flight from Galeão Airport. As a result, Nação Rubro-Negra plans to be present at the location at around 3pm, while Flamengo is expected to arrive at the Cargo Terminal at around 4:30pm.

After being eliminated from the Copa do Brasil, Palmeiras could still suffer another loss. This is because coach Abel Ferreira will be judged by the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) and could face up to six months and suspension for making an obscene gesture towards the referee during the confrontation against Flamengo.

Abel Ferreira was denounced in the article 258 of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice: "assuming any conduct contrary to sports discipline or ethics, such as disrespecting referee members". Thus, the penalty ranges from one to six games.

ABEL'S MANAGEMENT

Palmeiras needed a victory to be able to eliminate Flamengo from the Copa do Brasil. In the second game, at Allianz Parque, Abel Ferreira made the gesture after disagreeing with referee Anderson Daronco's call in the 38th minute of the second half.

After review by the VAR, the coach was sent off and left the team in the minutes end of the match. Even though the image was not clear, Abel Ferreira went so far as to argue that the movement did not target referees.

FLAMENGO IN THE BRAZILIAN CUP

After beating Palmeiras, Mais Querido faced Bahia, in the quarter-finals of the competition, also beating the team led by Rogério Ceni. Now, Rubro-Negro is preparing to face Corinthians, in the semi-finals of the matta-mata.
