The Rio de Janeiro City Council approved the creation of a special commission to deal with negotiations related to the Rio de Janeiro stadium Flamengo. The initiative, proposed by the club's vice-president of football, Marcos Braz, aims to speed up the process of obtaining a new location for the team's games and training. With this approval, Braz assumes the presidency of the commission, reinforcing his central role in the search for a new stadium for Flamengo.
According to information from the newspaper O Globo, the idea came from Braz, who has long been discussing the need for Flamengo's own stadium. The creation of the special committee is seen as a significant step in this direction, as it centralizes the club's efforts and representation in an official body of the City Council.
FLAMRNGO HAS A SCHEME FOR THE STADIUM
Marcos Braz, an influential figure within the Flamengo, has been a fervent supporter of building its own stadium. The club, which currently uses Maracanã as its main home, faces logistical and financial challenges that motivate the search for an exclusive space. The proposal to create the commission was quickly welcomed by councilors, reflecting the importance of the issue not only for the club, but also for the city of Rio de Janeiro.
The special commission will have as its main objective to negotiate all aspects related to the construction of the new stadium. This includes everything from choosing the location to defining partnerships and financing models. The centralization of these negotiations in a specific commission aims to increase the transparency and efficiency of the process, facilitating dialogue between Flamengo and the various actors involved, such as the municipal government, private investors and the fans themselves.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

Flamengo will no longer make signings in 2024, this is what Marcos Braz guarantees. After qualifying for the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil, this Thursday (12), the vice-president of red-black football gave an interview in the mixed zone of Maracanã and confirmed that the club considered hiring a new striker after Pedro's injury. But the board's final decision is to trust the attackers who are in the squad.
“We believe in the end. There were four hired at the beginning of the year, four now. We raised the hypothesis of bringing in a striker, but we understood, talking to everyone, that it was bringing someone to actually solve it”, began Braz after Flamengo 1 x 0 Bahia.
The manager recalled that Gabigol and Bruno Henrique has already been very decisive with the Sacred Mantle and has all the capacity to take over the top scorer spot. Camisa 27, in fact, was the author of the assist for the winning goal this Thursday.
“Whoever we have here has solved our problem many times, like Gabigol, Bruno 9, as he did today. Flamengo has already closed the window. Let's go with what we have until the end, recovering players. Gabigol returned today.”.
Some attackers were offered after Pedro suffered a serious injury while serving the national team. The name that gained the most traction within Flamengo was that of Frenchman Anthony Martial, formerly of Manchester United, but the deal did not move forward. Now, Marcos Braz confirms that Mengão is no longer on the market.
Flamengo signed this season: De La Cruz, Viña, Léo Ortiz, Carlinhos, Michael, Alex Sandro, Carlos Alcaraz and Gonzalo Plata. Reinforcements that together cost R$298.2 million to the club's coffers.
“It happens in football. Gabriel solved our problems several times and resolved them well. I'm not casting, but there's Bruno Henrique himself, Carlinhos. We are comfortable (with these attackers) for the competitions”, added Braz.
Marcos Braz admits Gabigol's departure from FlamengoGabigol was the main theme of the football vice interview. Asked once again about a possible contract renewal, Braz finally acknowledged that the trend is for Camisa 99 to leave at the end of the season.
“There may be a chance of contract renewal. It’s not impossible, but, unfortunately, it’s unlikely today”, concluded Marcos Braz.
