David Luiz's approach reflects not only his technical ability, but also his role as a leader and mentor within the Flamengo squad

0The defender David Luiz has stood out in recent games for Flamengo, displaying high quality football and demonstrating his importance for the red and black team. He recently reached a significant milestone by scoring his first goal at Maracanã during the derby against Vasco, consolidating his growing popularity among fans.
Despite his success, David Luiz still has one unachieved goal: to score a free kick goal in an official match. This element, which has always been notable in his career, has not yet materialized since his arrival at Flamengo. In an interview with the "ge" portal, the defender commented on this gap and shared his feelings with the fans.
SURPRISING SEASON FOR THE EXPERIENCED ZAGUEIRO
"Who scores the most goals from a free kick? in training it's me, but only in training. In the game it's not coming out. Sorry, Nation (laughs)", said David Luiz, demonstrating good humor and transparency when talking about the situation. He revealed that, despite his effectiveness in taking charges during training, he has not yet been able to replicate this success in games.
David Luiz highlighted the importance of courage and persistence in your free kick attempts. He mentioned that throughout his career he learned a lot from different players and now seeks to pass this knowledge on to his teammates. "I learned from many during my career and what I try to convey there is something I learned in the past and I try to encourage them to put their talent out. Often, what players lack are incentives to experience different things", he stated the defender.Rubro-negro started the season on the right foot in women's volleyball

0The first women's volleyball competition is Mengão's! This Friday (27), Flamengo won the National Cup of Pro-Vôlei Clubs. Against the current Superliga champion, Bernardinho's team played 3 sets to 0 at Minas, with scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-17. The duel took place at Ginásio Wilson Mânica, in Ijuí, Rio Grande do Sul.
The tournament featured three clubs and serves as preparation for the 2024/25 Superliga. On Wednesday (25), Flamengo beat Maringá. On Thursday (26), Minas also beat the team from Paraná. Therefore, this Friday (27th) the big decision took place, which had a packed gym.
Despite being a competition to open the season, Flamengo's victory gives a boost to the season. After all, Minas is the team to beat in Brazilian women's volleyball. Thus, in the last five Superligas, the Belo Horizonte team won four titles and one runner-up. In the squad, there are athletes who have played for the Brazilian team, such as Thaísa, Olympic champion and bronze medalist in this year's edition, in Paris.
SuperligaThe dates of the Women's Super League have not yet been announced. However, there is an expectation that the competition will start in October. In total, 12 teams will play the tournament, in a round-robin system, with the eight best qualifying for the quarter-finals.
In the last edition, after all, Flamengo was eliminated by Praia Clube in the semi-final . Therefore, the goal for 2024/25 is to reach the decision and repeat the title won in 2000/01, when Rubro-Negro beat Vasco, in a historic decision at the Ginásio do Maracanãzinho.

0FIFA will announce the venues for the 2025 Super Club World Cup this Saturday (28). The announcement will be made during the Global Citizen Festival. The event will be held in Central Park, New York. FIFA did not detail how many cities and stadiums will host the 2025 edition. This will be the first time that the tournament will feature 32 teams.
The Super World Cup will be held between June 15 and July 13, 2025 The competition already has 30 qualified teams, with three Brazilians among them: Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense. Brazil may have one more representative. This is because Atlético-MG and Botafogo are fighting for the last South American place in the competition — the Libertadores title gives them the place. Peñarol [if they win the Libertadores] and Olímpia [if River wins the Libertadores] are the other teams in the running.
The places are divided into: 12 for Europe, six for South America, four for Asia, Africa and North, Central America and the Caribbean, one for Oceania and one for the host country.
In addition to the remaining MLS spot, which has not yet defined its representative, the other available entry belongs to South America. It is destined for the champion of the edition of 2024 of the Libertadores. If River Plate wins the title, it will be transferred to the Conmebol ranking in FIFA and would already have an owner: Olímpia-PAR.

Situation will be decided after presidential elections
|
0Two of the CRF's most experienced players are in the final stages of their contracts, with their future still uncertain. Gabigol, the club's idol, and defender David Luiz have contracts valid until December 31, 2024. The uncertainty about whether they will stay raises discussions behind the scenes, especially with the presidential elections approaching.
The situation of defender David Luiz is delicate. Although his name is well evaluated within the current management, led by Rodolfo Landim, who supports Rodrigo Dunshee, the defender's continuity in the squad is not seen with the same enthusiasm by other wings of the club.
David Luiz had his contract was automatically renewed in January this year, after fulfilling the clause of playing in at least 20 matches, with 45 minutes on the field in each one. As a result, his contract was extended until the end of 2024. If Dunshee wins the elections, it is likely that Mengão will propose a renewal for another year.
The agreement, however, must be signed without an increase salary and without the payment of gloves. David Luiz has already expressed interest in remaining at the club, but the final decision should only take place after the presidential election.
The Mais Querido elections, scheduled for December, will be fundamental in defining the future of the two athletes. Depending on who takes charge, priorities and decisions about hiring and renewals may change.
