O Flamengo is close to completing the purchase of two important reinforcements for the rest of the season: Carlos Alcaraz and Gonzalo Plata. Negotiations are advanced, with financial details and player exchanges being discussed, but we already have a clear idea of the values involved and the conditions proposed by the selling clubs.
Carlos Alcaraz, Argentine midfielder who currently plays for Southampton , from England, is about to move to Flamengo in a significant negotiation for the Rio club. Southampton agreed to sell the player for 18 million euros, a significant amount that demonstrates Flamengo's confidence in Alcaraz's potential to add technical value to the team.
The deal also involves the move of Victor Hugo to the Southampton as part of the deal. Flamengo's young midfielder will be included in the negotiation, which can be seen as an opportunity for the player to gain experience in the Premier League, while Flamengo acquires a reinforcement considered to be of a high level for the midfield.
Alcaraz, aged 21, stood out in the youth teams of Racing, in Argentina, before moving to Southampton. Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. Carlos Alcaraz, Argentine midfielder from Flamengo, was once again available to Tite after serving a suspension in the last game against Vasco, valid for the Brazilian Championship. Now, he is preparing for the decisive Libertadores clash against Peñarol (URU), where he should be one of the fundamental pieces of the red and black squad.
Since August 30th, when he started training at Ninho do Urubu, Alcaraz has been attracting attention for its performance. His first match for Mengão took place on September 1st, in a game against Corinthians, when the midfielder came on in the second half and had a performance that pleased both the coaching staff and the fans.

Carlos Alcaraz arrived at Flamengoin a negotiation that involved 17.6 million euros (approximately R$108 million), with Flamengo acquiring 80% of its economic rights from Southampton, from England. The midfielder, who is just 21 years old, signed a five-year contract with the Rio club, valid until August 2029.
