With the start of CONMEBOL Libertadores 2024, attention turns to the possibility of a Brazilian club achieving an unprecedented four-time title. Flamengo, Grêmio, São Paulo and Palmeiras, each with three Libertadores titles in their history, enter the competition with ambition of becoming the first four-time Brazilian champions of the tournament.

The four clubs, which together dominate the national scene with their achievements, begin their campaigns with high expectations. Flamengo and Grêmio debut today, followed by Palmeiras tomorrow, and São Paulo, on Thursday, starting the race for the historic fourth title.

In addition to the candidates for the four-time title, Brazil is represented by other prominent clubs in this year's competition. Atlético-MG and the current champion, Fluminense, are also in contention, bringing with them the hope of further expanding the already impressive collection of Brazilian titles in the Libertadores.

Interestingly, Botafogo, despite being one of the 12 most traditional clubs in Brazil, it has never played in a Libertadores final, remaining the only one among the national giants without a mark in the tournament's history.

As CONMEBOL Libertadores 2024 progresses , Brazilian football finds itself in a privileged position to expand its already dominant presence on the South American football scene.
