This coming Sunday (2), Flamengoand Vasco face each other in the seventh round of the Brazilian Championship, at Maracanã, at 4pm. The confrontation, in fact, marks the reunion of the teams in the second classic of the year 2024.

It is worth remembering that Flamengo and Vasco had already faced each other this year. The game was valid for the group stage of the Campeonato Carioca. Thus, on February 4th, the rivals were left with a goalless draw at Maracanã.

So, now the teams meet again at Maracanã, where they are experiencing different moments in the season. This is because the Cruzmaltina team will debut its new coach, and Mais Querido continues under the command of Tite, who completed 39 official games ahead of Rubro-Negro.

TEAM STATUS IN THE BRAISLEIRÃO TABLE

The Flamengo < /a>occupies third place in the Brasileirão classification table, behind only Athletico-PR and Bahia, with 11 points. Vasco is in 13th place, with six. Thus, Mais Querido fights for the top of the table and the rival fights to climb a few more positions and not fight against relegation.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT CONFRONTATION

So, Flamengo and Vasco return to meet again this season and play the seventh round of the Brasileirão. Remembering that the competition was stopped in two rounds due to the climate tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul. Therefore, the teams return to the field this Sunday (2), at 4pm.

Last Tuesday, the candidate for re-election for mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, denied the journalist Ancelmo Gois, from Globo. In a post on Instagram, the mayor informed that the city hall will be responsible for removing the megastructure on the gas meter site, different from what was reported. Furthermore, he guaranteed that Flamengo will have its new stadium, with the best conditions and security.

The news published by Ancelmo informs that Flamengo would have to pay R$100 million to remove a large gas structure present on land acquired by the club, which is owned by CEG and CEG-Rio, which are companies that are part of the gas concessionaire Naturgy.

According to the article, the companies were informed that Flamengo is the responsible for bearing the expenses, as provided for in one of the annexes to the land purchase and transfer contract. The clause, however, does not have a specified limit.

Eduardo Paes guarantees that the removal is the responsibility of Rio's city hall.

Paes stated that the values for the transfer of the structure are different from what was pointed out in the article by Ancelmo Gois. Furthermore, it exempted Flamengo from any responsibility, and that the city hall has been planning to remove it for years.

“They are making me defend @flamengo more than I would like: let it be clear that this is not the The cost of this transfer and when it happens will be the responsibility of the city of Rio, which knows that this structure cannot be in an area that is already receiving so many residential buildings. It's been in our plans for a long time! Flamengo will have its new stadium there in the gasometer with all the quality and safety that the region demands and deserves. Period!”, published the mayor.

Experiencing a great drought of participation in goals for Flamengo, Arrascaeta will have a great chance this Sunday (2) to participate in goals again for Mais Querido. This is because, the Rubro-Negro faces Vasco, at 4pm, at Maracanã, in a game valid for the seventh round of the Brasileirão.

According to a survey carried out by GE's Espião Estatístico, Arrascaeta faces the longest period without direct participation in goals since he debuted for Flamengo, in January 2019. In total, there are 11 matches without goals or assists.

The last time the shirt 14th assist was on March 9, in the first match of Carioca's semi-final, where he put the ball over Pedro's head. Furthermore, the last goal scored by the midfielder was seven days earlier, when Luiz Araújo crossed, Bruno Henrique squared it, and Arrascaeta caught it first time.

COULD THE INJURY HAVE IMPROVED THE PERFORMANCE?

THE Arrascaeta's performance on the field fell sharply after the Uruguayan midfielder suffered an injury in the defeat of Flamengo 2-0 to Botafogo, on April 28th. The problem took the player out of three games in a row, although in the duel against Corinthians he was on the bench.

CAN VASCO HELP ARRASCAETA?

The classic between Vasco and Flamengo this Sunday (2) could be a great stimulus for Arrascaeta to once again participate directly in goals. This is because the Uruguayan is Cruzmaltino's executioner and has an excellent record against his rival.

In total, Arrascaeta has five goals, six assists, in 16 games against Vasco. With 11 wins, four draws and just one defeat for Cruzmaltino. Thus, the star of Mais Querido will be able to rediscover his confidence in the classic soon.
