The 2024 season has come to an end and, currently, the Flamengo squad is on vacation. However, Rodolfo Landim, who has presided over the club for the last few days, anticipated the new management and gave the number 10 shirt to Arrascaeta. Thus, Coluna do Fla listed the last players who wore the historic number.
In short, the last player to wear Flamengo's number 10 shirt was Gabigol. Initially, the striker arrived at the club, in 2019, with number 9. However, due to his great performance, the player was awarded the historic number from 2023 onwards. However, during the 2024 season, Gabigol was punished by Flamengo, who took the attacker's number 10 shirt. As a result, the player started using the Manto Sagrado 99 until he said goodbye to the club, on December 8th, against Vitória.

In short, with the departure of Gabigol, who did not renew his contract with Flamengo, the historic number would become vacant for good. As a result, Arrascaeta was the most likely to take on the number 10 shirt from 2025. In fact, the new board, which will be led by president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, was already moving behind the scenes to make the change official.
However, Landim went ahead and made a video call with Arrascaeta, revealing what he called a “Christmas gift”. According to information confirmed by the Coluna do Fla report, Landim did not talk to Bap and ‘passed through’ handing over the number 10 shirt to the Uruguayan.

Flamengo has been consolidating its youth academy strength with impressive achievements, including two consecutive U-20 World Cup titles. In one of these championships, Flamengo defeated Barcelona on penalties , reinforcing the quality of its young talent.
Ryan Roberto , a 17-year-old striker, is currently considered one of Flamengo's top prospects. With 21 goals in 39 matches, according to Globo Esporte, the youngster is attracting interest from European soccer giants such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Ajax.
Flamengo is protecting its talents, but knows that retaining Ryan long-term could be challenging given his potential. The youngster's refined technique, speed, and efficient finishing impress both at home and abroad.
The athlete holds 50% of the economic rights with Flamengo , and there is an option to purchase an additional 20%, valued at approximately R$1.5 million . Ryan arrived at Rubro-Negro in 2023, won the Brasil Soccer Cup U-15 and stood out in several tournaments, including the Adidas Cup at Ninho do Urubu.
In addition to his club achievements, Ryan Roberto was called up to the Brazilian youth national team in 2023. His release clause abroad is €50 million (R$316 million), reflecting the value Flamengo places on its jewel.

In the Campeonato Carioca, the Mais Querido won all three duels, 2-0 in the initial phase, 1-0 and 2-1 in the semifinals.
