The Boy from the Nest, Vinícius Júnior, has been a great example for the whole world on and off the field. This is because the young man inspired the creation of the Vini Jr Law against racism and homophobia. The novelty was sanctioned this past Monday (8) in Rio Grande do Sul.

The Vini Jr Law establishes a protocol to interrupt sports matches in Rio Grande do Sul in case of prejudice. The novelty will be valid for stadiums and sports arenas in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and brings three important warnings for referees who command the games.

The first of them is to “interrupt the match until the discriminatory conduct ends”. The second guideline states that “if the conduct is repeated, interrupt the match for 10 minutes and order the athletes to leave the location, such as the lawn or the court”. Finally, the third step is “if the conduct persists or is repeated, end the match”.

FIGHTING VINI JR'S RACISM

Vini Jr is the target of repeated racial insults in Spain, where he plays for Real Madrid. The young striker has been called a "monkey" inside stadiums on some occasions. Furthermore, the Boy from the Cuckoo's Nest saw a doll with his name and number being hanged in a public square in Madrid, displayed by Atlético de Madrid fans.

However, on the field the attacker continues to silence everyone. This is because, in the current season, Vini Jr scored Real Madrid's title-winning goal in the Champions League, not to mention his excellent performance in La Liga. It's no surprise that Flamengo's youngster is tipped to be named the best player in the world in October.

After speeches by the president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, the owner of SAF do Botafogo, John Textor, the Rubro-Negro leader continues to retort. In August, Landim pointed to black and white spending and called for financial fair play in Brazil. Textor gave an interview responding to the manager and, this Thursday (5), made a post on Instagram comparing amounts spent by the teams.

The owner of Botafogo used a post from “Portal Botafoguense”, on Instagram, in which it compares the amounts spent by Flamengo and its club in each sector.
