Rodrigo Muniz's goalscoring form in England is starting to stir up activity in the European market . The former Flamengo player has become Atalanta's target, and a potential transfer has Fulham looking for replacements. Their main target is Rasmus Hojlund, currently on the decline at Manchester United .
According to The Independent, the Dane lost his place after the arrival of coach Rúben Amorim and saw competition increase with the signing of Benjamin Sesko , bought for around €80 million. Signed from Atalanta for £72 million, Hojlund didn't perform as expected: he scored just 14 goals in 62 Premier League games. United are now reportedly willing to sell him for £40 million.
Atalanta could offer a similar amount for Muniz. The Flamengo -born striker has had two consistent seasons at Fulham, scoring 17 Premier League goals . Last Saturday (16), he was decisive when he scored in stoppage time against Brighton, securing a draw in the season opener.
If the sale goes through, Fulham will have the cash to invest heavily in a new number 9 , and Hojlund emerges as the main option. For United, the deal would represent a chance to reduce the financial losses associated with the player.
The next few days of the transfer window promise to be decisive for Fulham, Atalanta, Manchester United, and for Rodrigo Muniz, who could begin a new chapter in his career in Serie A. While negotiations are still pending, the youngster is preparing for the second round of the Premier League, when the Cottagers face Manchester United.
Mengão is the highest-earning team in South America and the Uruguayan director talks about the economic disparity experienced in recent years

Flamengo's finances continue to be in the spotlight in sports news. After the announcement of Betano's million-dollar sponsorship , the topic even resonated outside Brazil. Last Sunday (17), Peñarol (URU) director Evaristo González commented on the salaries paid by the Rio de Janeiro club .
"Only Flamengo's reserves earn more than our entire team" - Evaristo González, Peñarol
"The desire to come and win is evident. Flamengo 's reserves alone earn more than our entire team . (Coach Diego) Aguirre gives you this mystique. He's Peñarol, he knows the history. He knows what he's achieving," González said in an interview with Uruguay's 770 AM radio station.
Despite the financial disparity, Peñarol has already shown strength against Flamengo on the field. In 2024, the Uruguayan team eliminated the Rubro-Negro from the Copa Libertadores , including a 1-0 victory at Maracanã in the quarterfinals.
Flamengo and Peñarol could face each other again in this edition of the continental tournament . For the duel to take place in the semifinals, Flamengo must overcome Internacional in the round of 16 and then eliminate Estudiantes (ARG) or Cerro Porteño (PAR) in the quarterfinals.
On the other side, Peñarol will face Racing (ARG) and, if they qualify, will face Vélez Sarsfield (ARG) or Fortaleza . Like Flamengo, the Uruguayans won the first leg 1-0 and will need a draw this week to advance.
Before thinking about a reunion with the Uruguayans, Flamengo has a decisive challenge this Wednesday (20), against Internacional , at Beira-Rio, for the second leg of the round of 16 of the Libertadores. The clash will be broadcast by Rede Globo, ESPN and Disney+.
