The player Wesley, currently on the Flamengo squad, is became the center of a controversy after businessman Kaio Mana claimed to have been attacked and threatened with death by the athlete. The incident occurred during Sunday night, in a kiosk located in Barra da Tijuca.
According to Mana's reports, the situation began when he was accused by the player of having taken a photograph without authorization. However, Mana vehemently denies having created any image of the athlete. A verbal argument ensued, prompting both parties to return to their respective tables. However, according to Kaio's claim, Wesley later returned and punched him in the face, resulting in a bruise and a cut on the businessman's mouth.
"After the punch, I was a little worried. He threatened me. He said I would pay dearly if I were to play in the media, he threatened me with death. But there's no way because he attacked me, my mouth hurts. Out of fear, I didn't want to file a police report yesterday (Sunday).
So today I called my lawyers, and they advised me to come here (police ) to protect my image and my life", declared Kaio Mana. To date, Wesley stated that the player will not speak publicly about the incident.
This episode raises questions about the appropriate conduct of public figures and the way they deal with conflict situations.
