The case 'Roberto Dodien' continues to run in court, and the profile that attacked ex-president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello on the internet, may be close to being finally discovered. This is because a deadline has been set for X to reveal the account data in question.
According to Uol, it takes ten calendar days after the subpoena for X to reveal the account's telephone and email details, to understand who owns the fake profile created to spread hatred against the opposition. The facts point to Rodrigo Dunshee, candidate for president of Flamengo and vice general and legal officer of the club. The data would confirm who the account actually belongs to.
If not provide the data requested by the Court, X will be fined daily. The longer after the end of the ten-day period it takes X to provide the data, the higher the amount to be paid will be.
Account IP is from the gym where Rodrigo Dunshee trains
At another point, account by Roberto Dodien, who pointed to a gym in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, KS, in Ipanema, where Rodrigo Dunshee trains, strengthening the thesis that the manager could, indeed, be the owner of this account. However, when called to testify, Dunshee denied involvement and stated that it was political persecution.
Search happened through the courts after Eduardo Bandeira de Mello filed a lawsuit. Roberto Dodien even has the same initials as Rodrigo Dunshee.
The profile , in fact, was created in 2021. The MRN had access to the process document last year. It shows that the academy confirmed that Rodrigo Dunshee was already a student at the academy at that time. Bandeira's lawyers, therefore, asked for the lawsuit for slander, insult and defamation, and the project is being processed in the 42nd Criminal Court.
Dunshee called for an end to the investigation
In 2024, Rodrigo Dunshee claimed that it is impossible to prove that he is the author of message and account owner. Therefore, he asked for an end to the investigation.
“At this point, after more than a year of investigation, it is already possible to predict. With absolute certainty, there will never be just cause for the possible future initiation of private criminal action. It is imperative that we continue to spend time, energy and resources on expanding the investigation. Above all because it has already resulted in the production of thousands of confidential data, from thousands of people, forming part of a procedural notebook whose contents have been systematically leaked to the press”, says the petition from August 2024.
The Public Prosecutor's Office, however, said that the evidence presented by Eduardo Bandeira de Mello is “compatible and adequate to demonstrate sufficient evidence of the occurrence of the crime”. Furthermore, he said that “the continuation of this investigation is justified by the need to investigate the facts, as well as identify the criminal perpetrator”.
