Flamengo returns to the field this Thursday (12), in a decisive match of the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil against Bahia. With just one day to go before the clash, defender Gabriel Xavier revealed his feelings towards the big decision against Mais Querido, at Maracanã.
"The most important game for me. We know how important it is for We are very focused on making a great game and qualifying for the club. In addition to the game of the year, it is definitely the game of my life", declared Gabriel Xavier, in a press conference this Tuesday (10) .
Bahia will attempt an unprecedented feat in the match against Flamengo in the Copa do Brasil. This is because, since competing in the national knockout stage, the Bahian team has never managed to advance to the next stage after losing the first match.
Mais Querido arrives with a certain advantage. This is because Rubro-Negro beat the Bahian team in the first match and can draw with any result. Furthermore, Flamengo has the return of Arrascaeta, Léo Pereira and Gabigol.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.

This Monday (16), rumors emerged involving Bahia's interest in signing Gabigol, striker from Mais Querido. According to the channel Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, Tricolor de Aço would have entered the dispute for Gabigol, who has a contract with Flamengojust until December this year. In addition to Bahia, clubs such as Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Santos would also be keeping an eye on the player.
Despite the speculation, the Bahia board was quick to deny any ongoing negotiations to count on the shirt 99 from Mengão. According to the club's leadership, there is no intention of repeating an operation similar to that carried out with Everton Ribeiro.
