Zico, the greatest idol in Flamengo's history, expressed his opinions about the treatment that the Rio club gives to its youth teams compared to Palmeiras. In an interview with Rodrigo Caetano, former Flamengo director and current executive coordinator of the CBF, Zico highlighted that Flamengo seems to focus more on profiting from the sale of young players, while Palmeiras prioritizes using them in the main team.
The former player mentioned that, historically, Flamengo was known for training athletes who became protagonists in the club's great achievements.
