After the goalless draw between Flamengo and Palmeiras, coach Tite brought clarifications about the absence of some key players in the match. The coach stated that the decision not to start with Pedro and De la Cruz was a recommendation from the health department, in favor of the team's high performance. Furthermore, he highlighted that three other athletes - Erick Pulgar, Ayrton Lucas and Luiz Araújo - presented important risks, being classified with the yellow and red signal.
Erick Pulgar, in particular, was identified as the player with longest streak as a starter. Since his last participation, when he entered the field in the match against Volta Redonda in February, Pulgar stood out as a starter in the following 11 games for Flamengo. The return after a quadriceps injury was marked by a consistent performance, being a key part of Tite's tactical schemes.

The coach emphasized that decisions related to player selection are based on medical and scientific care, highlighting the importance of physical trainer Fábio Mahseredjian in this process. Tite highlighted that, despite his desire to have all available athletes, the medical department is responsible for assessing risks and recommending preventive actions.
In the specific case of Erick Pulgar, his presence on the field is considered essential due to his unique characteristics among the midfielders in the squad. The player stands out not only for his technical ability, but also for his ability to play during the 90 minutes, being substituted only in specific situations.
With Pulgar's return after his injury, Flamengo benefits from the presence of a player fundamental to the team's success. His continued participation in the games, combined with his contribution on the field, highlights the importance of his presence for coach Tite and for the general performance of the red and black team.
