Last Saturday morning, Flamengo and Brazil celebrated a great feat in artistic gymnastics during the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. With four of the five members of the women's team linked to the club, Rebeca Andrade, Flávia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa and Lorrane Oliveira were protagonists in winning the bronze medal in the team final. Julia Soares, from Paraná, who is not linked to Flamengo, completed the team.
In addition to the collective success, Rebeca Andrade stood out by winning the gold medal in the all-around solo event. The Flamengo athlete reached a historic milestone by becoming the greatest female medalist in Brazilian Olympic history, accumulating her fourth medal, this time silver, in the individual competition.
CONTRACT RENEWAL EXPECTATIONS
The brilliant performance of the gymnasts is already raising expectations in the Olympic sports department at Flamengo. The team's coordinator and coach, Georgette Vidor, revealed that the club is eager to renew the athletes' contracts, which expire in December 2024. "Flamengo wants to invest, but that will depend on their decision. I don't believe they want to leave, because here they have the best structure and they all have a history with the club, always wearing the shirt with pride", said Georgette.
Currently, in addition to the salary offered by Flamengo, the gymnasts receive an athlete scholarship and individual sponsorships. Flávia, Jade and Lorrane are also members of the aeronautics department, which adds to their remuneration.
LEGACY AND FUTURE OF ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS IN FLAMENGO
Georgette Vidor, with a career that dates back to the 80s at Flamengo, is responsible for revealing great talents in gymnastics, such as Jade Barbosa, Flávia Saraiva and Rebeca Andrade. The coach also guided renowned athletes such as Luísa Parente, Daniele Hypólito and Daiane dos Santos, who left a significant legacy in the club and in national sport.
With almost 50 girls training in Flamengo's artistic gymnastics team, Georgette expresses his hope that Olympic successes will result in improvements to the sport at the club. "Flamengo's football and basketball teams have an impressive structure, which provokes envy. I hope that the girls' results bring us at least a similar structure, with more dignified salaries for the coaches", concluded the coach.

The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) announced this Tuesday (19) the 14 athletes called up to represent the country in the Women's Volleyball World Championship. Under the command of José Roberto Guimarães, the coach maintains part of the group that won the silver medal in the Nations League, including four players from Sesc Flamengo.
The red-and-black quartet consists of outside hitter Helena, middle blocker Lorena, libero Laís, and opposite Tainara . In addition, Serbian center Masa Kirov, recently signed by Flamengo , will also participate in the tournament representing her country.
Tainara, Brazil's sixth-highest scorer in the VNL , edged out Jheovana for a spot on the final roster. Helena returns to the professional squad after participating in the Nations League and winning bronze at the U-21 World Cup. Lorena is guaranteed a spot in the squad after strong performances, while Laís is vying for a starting spot with Marcelle.

Sesc Flamengo continues to strengthen itself for the 2025/2026 season and announced the arrival of American winger Simone Lee . The 28-year-old athlete landed in Rio de Janeiro this Friday (15), accompanied by her husband, and shared a video on social media recording her arrival in the Marvelous City.
Preparations for the new cycle are already underway. Simone Lee will soon report to coach Bernardinho at the Army Physical Education School (EsEFEx) in Rio's South Zone, where the red-and-black team trains.
Officially announced on June 2, Simone Lee is one of five signings for the upcoming season. Upon confirming her arrival, the winger sent a message to the nation expressing her enthusiasm for playing for Flamengo :
"Hello Nation! I'm so excited to be joining the Sesc Flamengo team this upcoming season. I'm looking forward to working hard with my new teammates , my coaches, and the entire coaching staff. Flamengo announced this Wednesday (13) that it has terminated its sponsorship agreement with Pixbet . The contract, valid from January 2024, was for two years (until December), with the possibility of automatic renewal for two more seasons — a clause that should be activated in September.

The favorite to take over Flamengo's master sponsorship , SuperBet, faces stiff competition from Betano. The club has not yet decided on a new partner, but expects to sign a contract starting in September. Both companies have submitted three-year proposals, with values exceeding R$200 million per season and bonuses for targets, which could make the deal even more lucrative.
According to the ge portal, SuperBet's offer would surpass the contract signed with São Paulo, valued at R$600 million through 2030 , and could reach R$1 billion once the goals are met. Flamengo is working to make the new deal the largest sponsorship in Brazilian football.
The relationship began to strain after delays in installment payments, a situation the company admitted, acknowledging difficulties in honoring upcoming commitments . There are indications that PixBet will not exercise the renewal clause and will leave the club.
Flamengo 's board of directors wants to end the partnership in September so that the new sponsor can take over the uniforms immediately. PixBet is pleased with this possibility due to the outstanding amounts , but if an amicable agreement isn't reached, the termination will only take place in December, as stipulated in the contract.
Besides SuperBet and Betano, other bookmakers approached the club but withdrew due to the high fees required. If PixBet's exit is confirmed, the next sponsor will need to cover not only the master contract but also the corresponding amount for FlaBet .
