The Flamengo beat Atlético-Mg in the MRV Arena and isolated themselves at the top of the Brasileirão with 30 points. The duel against the Mineiros also ended up marking a new beginning for one of Rio's red-black players. That's because striker Carlinhos started the match and scored his first goal with the sacred mantle. In an interview, the player spoke about the moment, the goal and the mourning due to the recent death of his mother.

"(I would say) he is a winner. I'm a guy who never gave up. I lost my mother a few years ago. 15 days, I'm still grieving. It's been difficult, but I have to continue. Atlético fans sang homophobic music in the game against Flamengo, at Arena MRV, in the 14th round of the Brazilian Championship, this Wednesday (03). Before the ball rolled and even during the game, part of the black and white fans sang the famous chant in a tone of provocation towards their rival. “You are a team of idiots and c*z&%, pu**, vi***, and thieves. Take no **, Mengo”, they shouted from the stands. The prejudiced lyrics were already a reason for punishment for Galo, still in 2022, in a duel with the red-black for the Copa do Brasil.

On that occasion, Atlético received a fine of R$ 65 thousand determined by the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD). The song is recurrent in the athletic stands. The song became a kind of anthem in the disputes against Flamengo, motivated mainly by the historical rivalry between the teams.

This year, Atlético has already been judged by the Minas Gerais Sports Court of Justice (TJD-MG) for homophobic screams in a classic against Cruzeiro, in the third round of the Campeonato Mineiro. The club received new punishment. This time, worth R$40 thousand.
