Former president of Flamengo, Eduardo Bandeira de Mello and members of his board launched, this Monday (29), the book “Passion and Success – The Management that Transformed a Club”. Event at Livraria Travessa in Shopping Leblon, South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, brought together former vice-presidents, red and black fans and, despite the matter practically not coming up, the event to launch the work that exalts the passage of EBM brought together many of those who should be part of the opposition ticket in this year's elections.

Produced by Editora Lux, the work was organized by Pedro Iootty, former VP of the General Secretariat and president of the Flamengo General Assembly, and economists Fabio Giambini and Rodrigo Madeira. The book features texts from 16 vice-presidents of the Bandeira administration, as well as journalists, and details the financial restructuring process. The red-black debt decreased by R$300 million (from R$737 to R$455 million) and revenue increased by 200 million (from R$342 to R$538) in six years.

Bandeira de Mello thanked the fans for their presence and commented a little about the process of writing the book. He was responsible for the preface and, like Pedro Iootty, understands that Flamengo's processes can be a good book not only for red and black people, but also for sports managers.

“The fans' affection has no price. This is the only thing we feel there on the streets, in Maracanã and today we feel it here at Livraria Travessa. The book is a technical work, an experience report from the six years of our management. Written by those who experienced it, those who starred and I only wrote the preface, but I have the impression that everyone will like it and it will even serve as support for other sports administrations”, said the former president of Fla and now federal deputy.< /p>Launch brought together many allies of Bandeira de Mello

Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid, MVP of the 2022/23 NBA season, once again demonstrated his affection for Flamengo . Last Thursday (21), the Cameroonian player was spotted in an official club store, in Cabo Frio (RJ) , where he made a point of purchasing several red-black products.

A SURPRISING VISIT

Although unusual, Embiid's presence in the Lakes Region has a reason. Married to Brazilian model Anne de Paula, the athlete often visits the city, where his father-in-law lives, during the holidays. This time, he took the opportunity to explore the "Nação Rubro-Negra" store and expand his Flamengo memorabilia collection.

ENTHUSIASM IN THE STORE

The star's arrival took everyone by surprise and caused great excitement among the employees. Salesman Kauan said he was so nervous when he met the player that he forgot to remove the alarm from a piece of furniture, creating an unusual moment: " His father-in-law even joked with me afterward. It was an unforgettable experience ," he revealed.

Embiid didn't hold back. He brought jerseys for himself, his wife, his father-in-law, and his son , as well as accessories like shorts and thermoses. The visit even helped meet the store's sales goals. The center also obliged some fans and store owners by agreeing to take photos with them.

Embiid's connection with Flamengo isn't new. In 2023, during an interview with the NBA Freestyle program, he revealed that he started supporting Flamengo because of his wife's family: " Actually, I'm a Flamengo fan because my girlfriend's father is a fan . In January 2024, when Flamengo held a preseason training camp in Philadelphia, Embiid met Léo Pereira and Matheus Gonçalves . The defender even posted a photo with the star: " Nice to meet you, brother ."
