After former president Bandeira de Mello's version of the fire at Ninho, and a reply from Flamengo's Director of External Relations Cacau Cotta, the president of Mais Querido between 2013- 2018 counterattacked during an interview with the Coluna do Fla portal. The former representative claimed that an important part of the investigation process into the 2019 tragedy was withdrawn.
“With the revelation of the inappropriate connections between the delegate (Márcio Petra) and the director of Flamengo (Cotta), they are confirmed the rumors that have been circulating since 2019. And it is clear that for more than four years this connection was excluded from the process, damaging the defenses and the work of the MP (Public Ministry). But there is still time to investigate everything to get to the truth”, said Bandeira de Mello.
This Monday (27), the ‘Metropoles’ portal brought the version of Eduardo Bandeira de Mello’s defense about the fire at Ninho. In it, the current director of External Relations, Cacau Cotta, is cited as an important piece in the investigation process.
According to Bandeira's defense, delegate Márcio Petra had informally consulted with Cotta . Furthermore, in the former president's version, the current leader exempted the Landim management from blame for the fire, placing responsibility on the previous administration, in this case, Bandeira. Finally, during the hearing, the civil police officer admitted contact with the top hat, who was married to one of the police chief's cousins. Cotta spoke on Monday night (27).
“Regarding the allegations made by Mr. Eduardo Bandeira's defense, I would like to provide some clarifications. First of all, the deputy is not my relative, but my ex-wife's cousin. Secondly, Deputy Bandeira is being prosecuted by the Public Prosecutor's Office, which analyzed all the evidence and found that there were elements to make him a defendant in the criminal case”, began Cacau Cotta, in contact with the 'Metropoles' portal.
< “The Public Ministry's complaint was accepted by the judge and, to believe that a conversation with delegate Márcio Petra is the reason for the process, is to disqualify the entire institution of the Public Ministry, as well as the Judiciary. My conversation with the delegate was restricted to clarifying his doubts regarding the administrative structure of the club, which is public and appears in its statutes”, added Cotta.
Thus, Bandeira de Mello filed a request opening an investigative procedure against Márcio Petra. After all, the police chief admitted, in testimony, that he had not recorded the conversation with Cotta about the fire. The former president also claims that the principle of impersonality was violated.
