The negotiation involving Corinthians and Flamengo, regarding the purchase of right-back Matheuzinho, brought to light the company Brax Sports Assets, which acts as a guarantor in transactions between clubs. This contract was presented as a bank guarantee, which means that, in the event of default by Corinthians, Brax undertakes to pass it on to Flamengo b> the amounts that, by contract, would be allocated to the São Paulo club.
THE GUARANTEE GUARANTEES THAT YOU WILL PAY ON TIME
However, Flamengo states that there was a delay in payment on the part of Corinthians, leading the Rio club to notify Brax about the execution of the guarantee. The extrajudicial notification involved the request that the company transfer to Flamengo the amounts owed to Corinthians relating to the advertising sign contract. In response, Brax informed that the contract is up to date, and that the next due dates are only scheduled for January 2025. The company reinforced that its obligation is to guarantee payments, if Corinthians does not honor its commitments, but that, so far, there is no default.
A FIGHT BEHIND THE FOOTBALL SCENE
This positioning by Brax, however, contrasts with Flamengo's version, which claims there is an outstanding debt. The Rio club maintains that Corinthians did not comply with the payment of the installment relating to the purchase of Matheuzinho, which, according to Flamengo, would justify the execution of the guarantees offered. Brax, in turn, reaffirms that it does not owe any amount to the clubs, as its responsibility is only to intervene if Corinthians does not make payments within the established deadlines.
In addition to Matheuzinho, Hugo Souza's case also involved Brax, when Corinthians again offered the advertising sign contract as a guarantee for paying in installments for the goalkeeper's purchase. This practice, common in high-value negotiations, seeks to ensure that the parties involved comply with financial commitments. Brax, in this context, is just an intermediary that guarantees the transfer of advertising contract values to the club that uses them as payment guarantee.
